*OAUK's New Executive Team*
I am truly honoured to have been elected President of the Oshwal Association of the UK on 17 May, and privileged to lead this dynamic new Executive Team.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has placed trust in the new team and am proud to introduce them to you - their contact details and responsibilities can be found by clicking this link https://oshwal.org.uk/ec/

The overwhelming support and kind words we have received are sincerely appreciated. Having now been in office for just over a week, we are truly humbled by the encouragement, goodwill, and love shown by our community. This reflects a community that is ready to embrace progress, inclusivity, and positive change for the benefit of us all - a community that understands leadership should inspire every generation, that change is constant, and that we are always stronger together.

Huge congratulations to North and North East areas for electing strong committees and look forward to seeing other areas doing the same at forthcoming AGMs.

But, this is not just about the new Executive Team and area committees, it is about all of us working together for the future of our Oshwal community. We extend a hand of friendship and gratitude to every volunteer who has dedicated precious time and service to OAUK, and we look forward to working alongside our elders, past leaders, Area Committees, volunteers, and members so that their wisdom, experience, and commitment continue to strengthen our community.

We will strive to serve with diligence, integrity, unity, and openness - always placing the community at the heart of everything we do. Together with you, we want to build a stronger, more inclusive, and vibrant Oshwal community for all generations, while preserving the values and traditions that define us.

We recognise there are challenges ahead, but we are confident that with this strong team, and with the support of others who have done this before us, and our Board of Advisors, Area Committees, volunteers, and community members, we will move forward with openness, maturity, mutual respect, shared purpose, and succeed together.

As we settle into our new roles and complete the handovers with the previous team, who we thank for their service and contribution thus far, we ask for your continued support, engagement, and patience. Please continue reaching out and working with us as we strive to build an even stronger OAUK together.

Jai Mahavir, Jai Oshwal 🙏🏽

The newly elected Executive Trustees are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of an Oshwal stalwart, Shri Laxmichandbhai Shah. We pay homage to his extraordinary community sewa, wisdom, and values, which inspired so many to volunteer in service of our community.

For over 50 years, Laxmichandbhai served the Oshwal community through OAUK with unwavering dedication and kindness. His contribution touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.

He played an active role across many committees, including the NW Area committee, and remained committed to community service throughout his life. Even until his final day, he continued volunteering at Ekta Centre with the same passion and enthusiasm that defined him.

Laxmichandbhai was known for his immense knowledge, practical wisdom, and generous nature. He always made time to guide others, share his experiences, and support those around him with warmth and sincerity.

Many will also remember his incredible efforts in helping raise over £100,000 for OAUK through a 250km walking challenge in India alongside his dedicated team - a true reflection of his determination and devotion to the community.

In recognition of his lifelong service and commitment, he was honoured with the esteemed title of OAUK Honorary Member for extensive and exceptional community service.

He will always be remembered with immense respect, gratitude, and affection.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May Bhagwan Mahavir grant him peace on his onward journey.

Ohm Shanti Shanti Shanti 🙏

Jai jinendra

*Humbled. Grateful. Ready to Serve.*
I am truly honoured to have been elected as President of the Oshwal Association of the UK on 17 May, and deeply humbled to become the first woman President in the charity’s 55-year history.
My heartfelt thanks to every member who placed their trust in me and the new Executive Team. The outpouring of support, kind words, and hundreds of congratulatory messages have been overwhelming and sincerely appreciated.

This moment is not just personal - it is historic for our community. It reflects progress, inclusivity, and the belief that leadership should inspire every generation.

However, this achievement is not about one individual. It is about all of us and the future of our Oshwal community.

Your newly elected Executive Team are here to serve the members. We will strive to put the interests of the community first and work with integrity, unity, and commitment for the betterment of OAUK.
As we settle into our new roles, I humbly request your patience and support, allowing us the space to focus on the work we have been elected to do rather than becoming distracted by social media discussions across various platforms.

We are also happy to deal with correspondence from you directly once we have completed the handovers from the previous EC, which are expected to be completed shortly.

We are fully focussed on building a stronger, more inclusive, and vibrant Oshwal community for all generations - one that we can all continue to be proud of whilst preserving the values and traditions that define us.

History was indeed made at the 55th AGM of the Oshwal Association of the UK, but this is only the beginning of a new chapter.

Please join me in welcoming your new Executive Team as we embark on this journey together. They are:

📸 Appreciation post for Rajan Shah 📸

Over the last few years, we have been delighted with some amazing photography for our OAUK events. These photos have captured the Oshwal community spirit, the fulfillment of sewa and behind the scenes shots of the incredibly hard work by our volunteers. Members have enjoyed going through these pictures on our social media platforms as it has been a way to socially connect in a virtual world.

Today, we would like to extend our immense gratitude to the very talented Rajan Shah, who has always humbly stayed behind the lens. With his immense talent, he has captured exceptional pictures of the Oshwal spirit bringing us all moments of joy, laughter & togetherness. We cannot underestimate the endless hours he has spent after every event ensuring only the perfect pictures made it to the cut.

We share below, his photos of our majestic Derasar and a picture of him too ☺️.

Thank you Raj for your selfless Sewa to OAUK 📸

OneJain Awards 2026

Thursday evening at the UK Parliament was a truly proud moment for the Oshwal Association of the UK and a historic occasion for the Jain community in the UK.
The OneJAIN Mahavir Jayanti Kalyanak Celebrations and the OneJAIN Awards 2026 were held at the House of Commons in the presence of Baroness Shah of Wembley, Lord Raval, Matt Turmaine, Mehool Sangrajka, distinguished guests from the Wellcome Trust, faculty members from the University of Birmingham theological department which runs Jain studies courses, members of OneJAIN and many invited guests.

OAUK would like to honour and congratulate Pujya Shri Jayeshbhai and Mili Abrahams for receiving the ONEJain Achievement Awards.

Pujya Shri Jayeshbhai for receiving the OneJAIN Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding and sustained service to the Jain community in the United Kingdom and beyond. Jayeshbhai is a family man whose compassion, humility and extensive knowledge of Jainism have inspired generations. This recognition is truly well deserved.

Milli Abrahams, is the first Oshwal to complete one of the world’s toughest challenges — rowing 3,000 miles single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean — received the OneJAIN Outstanding Achievement Award. An absolutely incredible feat and an inspiration to us all.
