The Church of The Ascension Children are very welcome. Regular social events include quiz nights, craft fayres & lectures.

Twitter: Built in 1913, The Parish Church of the Ascension is a warm and lively parish church in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, located in the residential area of North End in the City of Portsmouth. Irrespective of whether you are strong in faith, newly converted, exploring religion for the first time or have just moved into the area, you can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome. We hold a Family Mass on the first Sunday of the month and regular Messy Church events are held throughout the year which young families are encouraged to attend. For weddings (including banns), funerals, baptisms, and hall hire please get in touch. Normal Service times:

11:00 Parish Mass (Family Mass - 1st Sunday of the Month)
18:00 Evensong & Benediction (Last Sunday of the month)

Thursday:
18:30 Evensong
19:00 Low Mass (Mass of Our Lady of Walsingham - 2nd Thursday of the month)

Choir Club starts again this Thursday! If you’d like your child to join, and they’re in school years 3-6, we’d love to see you! Expect a little after school snack, professional quality teaching and lots of fun, for an hour after school - for FREE! 🤩🎵🎶

Pupils from King's Academy College Park and Mayfield School pupils can be escorted to the church for Choir Club, at the end of the school day, by our team (once registered) and collected at 4.30pm.

A reminder that this Sunday we keep Sea Sunday, with a combined Family Mass at The Ascension at 11am. The Junior Choir will be singing and the service will be followed by a Parish Barbecue in the church garden to which all are welcome.

At St Saviour there will be a short said Mass (1928 rite) at the usual time of 9.30am for anyone unable to make the later time.
