After a week of glorious sunshine (or perhaps unbearable heat!) ☀️, the weather returns to normal and half term comes to end. Life is settling back into its usual rhythm with school bags being packed, routines returning, and an ordinary week begins.

Whatever this week holds, we believe in a God who is present in both the extraordinary sunshine and the everyday school run. ☀️

Acts 2:1-4 NLT

On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

This year’s Thy Kingdom Come is all about the presence of God through His spirit.

From the story of Ruth to the story of Gideon, from the story of Elijah to the story of the early church who waited for the promised Holy Spirit to come we can remember the stories which demonstrate God’s transformative presence, power and love at work in the lives of people and places. 🙏✝🕊
