And back to this year. Our parade will take its usual route starting at St Lukes Church on Greetham St. Beside Portsmouth and Southsea train station, we will have a walk to the Guildhall cenotaph where a short service and wreath laying ceremony will be conducted before we make our way along the seafront finishing at South Parade Pier with our function being held in the Gaiety bar on the pier overlooking Southsea beach, the Solent and the Isle of Wight.
Our good friends from Johnston True Blue accordion band from Liverpool will be leading the parade as normal.
More details for our function on the Saturday night will follow soon.

Well done to the Deputy Master of Sons of Ulster LOL 1027 from Bangor who helped a fellow runner finish the Boston marathon who had fallen and couldn't get back up. By doing this Bro. Aaron Beggs gave up his chance to beat his personal best time. That's what being an Orangemen means, there to help others.

Sad news from our friends on the Shankill Road, Ivan was my 1st point of contact when we started walking with the Old Boyne Island Heroes and always went out of his way to make our lodge and the Portsmouth ladies lodge feel welcomed and looked after, he will be sadly missed. The Officers and Brethren of our lodge send heartfelt condolences to the Stewart family and also the Brethren of LOL 633πŸ’œπŸ§‘πŸ’œπŸ§‘

A message from our Worshipful Master, Jamie Baxter; It is with heavy heart that Old Boyne Island Heroes L.O.L. 633 marks the passing of our esteemed Lodge member Bro. Ivan Stewart

Ivan was a dedicated member of L.O.L. 633 where he served with pride, integrity, and a true spirit of brotherhood. His presence within the Lodge and the wider community will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of walking alongside him.
Ivan was more than just a member, he was a friend to many and a constant source of support. His dedication and commitment will leave a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him

Our deepest condolences go out to the Stewart family and his many friends during this time of mourning. May you find comfort in the cherished memories of a life well-lived and the legacy he leaves behind.

I am completely indebted to Brother Dr Ian Mackey from L.O.L 213 who has published this book.
He has worked on this for the last year and it is an excellent production detailing the Districts and Lodges within the Metropolitan Province over the last 150 years.

I would also like to express my thanks to the Metropolitan Provincial Secretary, Brother Ian McFarland for his input into this venture.
It's A4 in size and 90 pages of historical Orange information.

The Orange Institution and especially the Metropolitan Province are blessed to have such hard working, knowledgeable Brethren in the ranks.
Thankyou
