As we come to the end of Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate the more than 150 volunteers who keep Portsmouth Cathedral going, giving their time across an extraordinary range of roles: Churchwardens, Sidespeople, Flower Guild, Holy Dusters, events, hospitality, the shop, education, guides and welcomers, Anna Chaplains, Lay Pastoral Assistants, gardeners, singers and musicians, bell ringers, toddler group, servers, intercessors, readers, lunch club, office, researchers, and committees.
In the last year alone, 47 new volunteers have joined us across 65 roles, including 23 choristers 18 in events, 9 in the shop, 6 in the Consort, 4 in the Flower Guild, 4 as gardeners, 3 as stewards and guides, 3 in education, 3 as Sidespeople, 3 as Servers, 2 with and 2 in the lunch club.
To every one of our volunteers, past and present: thank you. We couldn't do what we do without you.
