Scripture
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. – Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Overcoming Fear with Faith
Fear can take many forms—worry, anxiety, panic or even dread. But it’s so important for us to get the upper hand on fear because it does not come from God.

Even when we face uncertainty or difficulties in life, God wants us to have faith that He is with us in the struggle and that He can do great things. He wants us to remain positive and full of hope!

Faith is the opposite of fear. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith allows us to believe that God is going to do something great even before it comes to pass. Faith enables us to believe things that may not make sense to our natural minds.

One of the main ways we release our faith is through what we say. So, even when it doesn’t look like good things are happening, it’s important to say what God’s Word says about our situation.

When you are going through a difficult time or find yourself expecting the worst, I encourage you to say things like:

“God has a great plan for my future, and I believe something good is going to happen today!” (See Jeremiah 29:11.)

“My future is bright, and I have nothing to worry about—God is taking care of me. The Lord’s goodness and mercy follow me every single day of my life!” (See Philippians 4:6; Psalm 23:6.)

“I don’t have to fear, because God is always with me.” (See Joshua 1:9.)

Living by faith doesn’t mean that we ignore our circumstances, but it means that we choose to focus on God and believe that He is greater than anything we are going through (see Ephesians 3:20).

Pray: “God, thank You for watching over every detail of my life. When things are uncertain, help me to believe Your Word more than my doubts and fears. Help me to speak words of faith and say what You say about my situation. I know that You are greater than my fears and You have good things planned for my future. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”

God Provides

Have you heard promises from others that if you follow their way of life, or even donate to their organization, your life will be filled with blessings, money, success and prestige? This is far too common, sadly, and it often ends badly.

Many very popular leaders say that following Jesus is a way to ensure God's blessings for physical health and material wealth—your best possible life in the here-and-now. The Bible tells us that this teaching comes from corrupt minds that are empty of truth:

"These arguers—their minds warped by sin—don’t know how to tell the truth; to them the Good News is just a means of making money. Keep away from them." (1 Timothy 6:5, TLB)

When our desire to follow God is based on how He might make our lives easier or more successful, we are missing the point.

God knows it is an empty person who only seeks Him to obtain these things. They cannot really satisfy us. The most important things in life are not for sale. He invites you to enjoy His approval, forgiveness, protection and eternal life with Him.

He broke down the barrier between you and Himself — the violations of His commandments — by carrying out the punishment you deserve on a substitute: Jesus Christ. When God Himself became a man in the person of Jesus, He served God perfectly and resisted all temptation. His resurrection proved God's justice had been satisfied.

If Jesus paid such a high price for your acceptance, what do you have to do to receive it? It's a free gift you receive by receiving Christ as Lord!

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

"… to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them" (John 1:12)

The time is now. (2 Corinthians 6:2) "Seek the Lord while you can find Him. Call upon Him now while He is near." (Isaiah 55:6) Here's how to accept Him:

PRAY NOW
"God, I confess I have put
other things before you.
I believe Jesus died in my place
and rose again. I am trusting in Him
today, nothing else, to make me right
with you. Please give me the priceless
gift of your salvation for His sake,
in the name of Jesus. Amen!"

In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus declares, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Be encouraged knowing the manifest presence of God is not just for some people but for you and for me!

Matthew 3:16-17

As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on Him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased/ whom I delight!”

If You wish, I will put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 5 While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” 6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown in terror.…
