St Patrick's Church, Portrush

St Patrick's Church, Portrush Mass Times in St Patrick's Portrush are as follows: Sunday 12.00 noon. Extract from Rev.

Felix McLaughlin Parish Priest 1987

St Patrick's Church was built in 1845 when we still belonged to the Parish of Coleraine. On completion we were set up as an independent parish in 1848 serving St Patrick's, Portrush and St Mary's, Bushmills. The little church was built with local stone from a quarry in Kerr Street Portrush. It served the spiritual needs of the Catholics in the area for nearly 1

00 years. As Portrush developed into a thriving resort the Catholic population increased and the old church was extended in 1936 to accommodate them. Further renovations were necessary in 1987 due to severe weathering of exterior and windows. The interior needed updating to comply with Vatican II and the new Liturgy. Today we thank God for the faith and sacrifices of the generations who built the original church and extended it 90 years later. With the planned maintenance programme ongoing, may our church continue to be a fitting centre of worship for many years to come.

I also pray for his family and pay tribute to their appeal for calm as they support Stephen. The quick response of the local community and the...

A beautiful way to honour the One who is the Source of all life on this Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Thank you to the children who received Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time who took part in the procession. As Fr. Kevin said, they will have made Jesus very happy today by coming out to honour Him in this special way. After a time of prayer and Benediction, everyone received light refreshments and the children received lots of lovely treats including ice cream.

Thank you to all involved in this special and beautiful Corpus Christi procession for our family of parishes. A lovely time to be grateful for the gift of Jesus and the nourishment he brings to our lives. ❤️💝
