THE LORD MAYOR, Alderman Stephen Moutray, hosted a Civic Receptiion for the Portadown Salvation Army, in recognition of our existence in the town over 145 years. A small number of members were there to represent the Corps and to show our appreciation of the acknowledgement by the ABC Council of the ongoing work and witness of the Corps in and around Portadown.
The Sunday Worship meeting is 10.30am each Sunday, which is open to everyone. Our Hall is open Tuesday mornings 10am-12noon for those who need practical assistance - a free cup of tea and a chat is also on hand for those who just need a a bit of time and space to relax!. Why not come along - a warm welcome awaits you.

Christians all over the world are reflecting on what the events of Holy Week mean for the whole of mankind - a time to consider why Jesus, the Son of God, had to die on the Cross; an agonising death; one of shame and humiliation. And yet, it was the only way for mankind to be brought back to our Creator God, who loves us. Mankind must acknowledge the seriousness of sin, and what it cost God to open the way for us, His children, to return to Him. On Easter Sunday we will celebrate that Jesus is alive, who secured for us the victory over the power of sin, darkness, despair and the fear of death. There are many people within our own neighbourhood who don't know the joy, peace, hope and contentment that comes from believing in Jesus and what He has done for us. Why not invite someone to your Church this Easter.
You are welcome to join us in our hall in Edward Street, as we meet on Good Friday at 7.30pm to consider what Jesus endured at the hands of sinful men. Our Easter celebration is on Sunday 10.30am. It is an opportunity for you to see what Easter is all about.
