On 2 August, the Ninth Sunday after Trinity and Fr Jeremy’s last Sunday as Assistant Curate in the and at Christ Church, he preached on the grace of leftovers, the fundamental incompleteness of all meals and ministry as the way that God’s work and grace continues to break in. The readings were Isaiah 55:1-5, Romans 9:1-5, and Matthew 14:13-21.

On the Seventh Sunday after Trinity, Fr Jeremy preached on the of the wheat and the weeds, exploring how God calls us to the patient works of in order to help build the Kingdom of God here and now. The readings were taken from Wisdom 12.13, 16-19; Psalm 86.11-17; Romans 8.12-25; and Matthew 13.24-30, 36-43.

Peter, one of Ministry Area Wardens, was with us today to give us this announcement. After the notice at the service, Fr Jeremy expressed his deep appreciation of the love and support he’s received from Christ Church and the wider Ynysybwl community. Details of a goodbye celebration and final service to follow soon.

Congratulations to Rev'd Dr Jeremy Heuslein who has been appointed as Archbishop’s Chaplain and Pioneer Priest in the Tredegar Park Ministry Area (with responsibility for St John the Baptist in Newport).

On Sunday, 5 July at 18:00, we will have a service of prayers and healing. In this quiet service, we will take a moment to pray for all who suffer in mind, body or spirit. There will also be an invitation to receive anointing with holy oil for all who would like. All are welcome. If you have any questions or would like a name prayed for but cannot make it to the service, do let us know.
