Congratulations from the Chaplaincy to Shereen Aziz-Williams our Honorary Muslim Chaplain on her Declaration as High Sheriff of Gwent, with the Rev. Vaughan Rees (the former University Chaplain) now Chaplain to the High Sheriff.

Tuesday 27 January is Holocaust Memorial Day – the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in 1945.
The Day includes remembrance of mass atrocities in more recent times and those taking place now, to stand by all who are suffering and expose injustice – we remember the past in order to build a better future.
The Chaplaincy invites you to come in at any time during the day and do what seems right to you – sit quietly, see a slide presentation, reflect or pray, or light a candle.
Dydd Mawrth 27 Ionawr yw Diwrnod Cofio'r Holocost – diwrnod sy’n nodi rhyddhau gwersyll crynhoi Auschwitz-Birkenau yn 1945.
Mae'r Diwrnod yn cynnwys cofio am erchyllterau torfol yn y cyfnod mwy diweddar a'r rhai sy'n digwydd nawr, i sefyll wrth bawb sy'n dioddef a datgelu anghyfiawnder – rydym yn cofio'r gorffennol er mwyn adeiladu dyfodol gwell.
Mae'r Gaplaniaeth yn eich gwahodd i ddod i mewn ar unrhyw adeg yn ystod y dydd a gwneud yr hyn sy'n ymddangos yn iawn i chi – eistedd yn dawel, gweld cyflwyniad sleidiau, myfyrio neu weddïo, neu goleuo cannwyll.

With profound sorrow, the Chaplaincy at USW invites colleagues and students to visit the Meeting House to light a candle for those who are suffering, to offer our deepest sympathies to those who are bereaved, and to keep company with one another at a time of concern and distress.

The Meeting house is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
