Psalm 103:12 says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” What a picture of forgiveness! When God forgives, He does not keep our sins nearby ready to bring them back against us. Scripture describes them as remembered no more, cast into the depths of the sea, and removed an immeasurable distance away. If Christ has carried your sin, you do not need to keep carrying it yourself. Confess it, leave it with Him, and receive His forgiveness. God is able to send your sins away.

God does not offer partial forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 says that He cleanses us from “all unrighteousness.” The gospel deals not only with the guilt of sin, but also with its stain and power. Jesus does more than place a label over our lives saying “forgiven”; He begins the work of making us clean.

No sin is too deeply stained for the grace of Christ. No past is beyond His cleansing power. Bring the whole of your life to Him. He forgives, restores, renews and changes us from the inside out. His cleansing is complete.

How can a holy and just God forgive guilty people? The answer is the cross. Jesus did not die merely to show us an example of love. He carried our sin and bore its judgment. Romans 3:26 describes God as both “just and the justifier” of those who believe in Jesus.

At Calvary, justice and mercy meet. God does not overlook our sin or pretend it does not matter. He forgives because Christ has dealt with it. The cross is therefore our confidence: our forgiveness rests not on what we have done, but on what Jesus has finished.

Our forgiveness does not depend on how strongly we feel, how emotional our prayers are, or whether we think we deserve another chance. It rests on the character of God. 1 John 1:9 tells us that He is “faithful and just” to forgive and cleanse us. God keeps His promises.

When we genuinely confess our sins, we do not have to wonder whether God might forgive us. His promise is sure because He is faithful. Our feelings change, but God does not. Put your confidence today, not in yourself, but in the unfailing faithfulness of God.

“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” — 1 John 1:5. Light reveals what darkness hides. In the same way, when God shines His light into our lives, He exposes attitudes, habits and sins we may have ignored or excused.
That can feel uncomfortable, but God’s light is not there simply to condemn us. He reveals what is wrong so that He can make us clean. Don’t run from the light. Let the Holy Spirit search your heart today. What God’s light exposes, the grace of Jesus Christ is able to cleanse.

Sin leaves marks that we cannot simply wash away by trying harder or pretending they are not there. But the wonderful promise of 1 John 1:9 is that God offers real cleansing:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” Jesus Christ does what we cannot do for ourselves. He forgives the guilty and cleanses the stained heart.

Whatever your past looks like, God’s grace is greater. Come honestly to Him today. There is forgiveness, cleansing, and a fresh beginning at the cross.

“Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” — Hebrews 3:15

One of the easiest responses to Jesus is:

“Maybe later.”

Not “never”.
Not outright rejection.
Just… later.

But every delay can make the next delay easier.

There will always seem to be another reason to wait — when life settles down, when circumstances change, when we feel more ready.

God's Word continually brings us back to today.

If God is speaking to your heart, don't keep postponing your response. Come to Jesus today!
