A massive thank you to all our leaders and volunteers! We couldn't be the company we are without you ❤️

Today marks the start of Volunteers' Week and we want to say a huge thank you to our 6,500+ volunteer leaders for all they do! 🙌

In communities across the country our children and young people are provided with opportunities to learn, grow and discover in a safe, fun and caring environment, which wouldn't be possible without the tireless dedication of our volunteers.

Keep an eye on our social media channels throughout this week as we'll be sharing stories from some of our volunteers of why they do what they do!

It is with heartbreaking sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear friend, brother in Christ and former Captain of the 5th Plymouth - Trevor Heale.

Trevor started his Boys' Brigade journey in the Lifeboys, working his way up through the sections and ranks to eventually become Captain. He ran an active company programme over the years, as well as participating in Battalion, District and National events.

Following the company restarting in 2011, Trevor was an avid supporter and mentor to us, especially in the early years. His friendship and guidance to the team was energetic and immeasurable as we navigated our new journey together.

In later years, Trevor also served as Plymouth Battalion Secretary, Devon Battalion Secretary and a West of England District Representative. He was passionate about supporting events in the wider BB community and building those BB friendships. He firmly believed in the promotion of the Boys' Brigade and the furthering of Christ's Kingdom to all young people.

There are far too many memories for us to mention but his visits to camp for his annual crumble pudding will always be a highlight. His enthusiasm and ability to bring everyone together with plenty of laughter and mischief will be sorely missed.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Yvonne, Gilly and Alex, and the rest of the family at this incredibly sad time. We also remember his friends at Mount Gould Methodist Church and wider BB family.

Rest in peace my dear friend, your work here is done.

Charlotte Badock,
Captain 5th Plymouth.

Back in July we held our annual Awards evening. It was a lovely evening where we celebrated how dedicated, enthusiastic and inspiring our children are, and for their achievements to be recognised in the badges and awards they received.

22 children received awards,
8 children were promoted,
1 President's Badge was awarded and the first King's badge (for the company since it was reformed in 2011), was awarded to 3 of our Seniors. Two of those Seniors have now finished their childhood BB journey and have returned as young leaders.

A huge thank you to our amazing team of leaders for everything they do, and to our parents and carers, church family and supporters for their continued faith and support in us ❤️
