St Mary's Church, Laira, Plymouth, Devon

Saturday September 12th at 10am there will be a talk and tour of St. Mary's Church in Laira. It will talk about the history of the building but place it in the wider context of the growing communications artery of Laira.

Although this is a free event we hope to collect donations on the day and all the money collected are to help fund vital repairs needed for the building.

Is there any local people who may be able to move some tables, a bouncy castle, and 2 gazebos from st Mary’s, Laira up the hill to Emmanuel? We will pay of course!

Only 5 days to go until Laira Fair - everyone welcome! We have had a slight change to the food as the weather may be drizzle! We are going to do pulled pork in soft white rolls, frankfurters and marinated tofu instead of the hog roast which needs to be outside! We will be charging for the food and drinks to cover costs but all the activities will be free.

Thanks to ParkLife SW the path is now cleared to the basement room and down to the road. Trees and weeding done as well! Lots more to do!!

Sadly today Sunday 17th May - St Mary's held its last formal, regular service. It was a very poignant and beautiful last service. This church has served its community for 112 years. We do hope to find a new role in the future under the guidance of Emmanuel Plymouth We do have a fun day arranged on Saturday 6th June from 11am to 3pm to which everyone is welcome. God Bless you all.
