Since our December 2025 meeting, the closure of the A9 northbound slip road has been on the agenda - with the following requested on our website:

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is preparing to undertake essential wall replacement and associated riverbank reinstatement works on the northbound off-slip road to . These works are currently programmed to begin 1st June 2026 and are expected to be completed by 31st December 2026. The works need to be programmed to run through the summer months to minimise the environmental impact on the River Tummel.

A diversion will be in place via the A9 northbound off-slip to Pitlochry at the northern end of the town (over Loch Faskally), with appropriate signage installed in advance and throughout the closure. This is expected to add an estimated 2 miles or 5 minutes to journey time.

As a Community Council we are gatehring feedback to share with Perth and Kinross Council, BEAR Scotland, and Transport Scotland.

The Church of Scotland Guild is one of the most forward looking organisations within the C of S. They have never failed to address real issues that impact upon the lives of ordinary people at both a global and a national level. Their passio, generosity and faith is a credit to the Church of Scotland

The Church of Scotland Guild has raised more than £224,000 for its four project partners over the last 12 months.

The "remarkable" sum will help deliver a range of work both at home and overseas in the name of Jesus Christ, highlighting it as a Christian movement rooted in worship, prayer and action.

The news was shared with the General Assembly yesterday by Kay Coull , National Convener of the Guild, who said it was an "honour and a pleasure" to serve.

The Guild's report to the General Assembly highlights the work, achievements, and challenges that the movement has faced in the last year.

It remains committed to serving both the Church and wider communities in Scotland and abroad.

At its heart is the 2024–2027 strategy, "Let us Build a House," which is shaped by the themes Sure Foundations, Living Stones and Beyond the Walls.

Together, these themes encourage members to deepen their faith, strengthen discipleship, and engage actively with the world around them.
