Today's Sermon....🌊 Peace in the Storms: Recognising the Sovereignty of Christ

In this week’s sermon, Simon reflects on the story of Jesus calming the storm and the frightened disciples crying out, “Lord, save us!”

Drawing on readings from Isaiah, Psalm 96 and Colossians, Simon reminds us that Jesus is not simply a miracle-worker, but the Lord of all creation—the one through whom all things were made and through whom God brings reconciliation and peace.

Like the disciples, we can easily feel overwhelmed by the storms of life: illness, loss, uncertainty or conflict. Faith does not mean that we will never experience hardship or doubt. It means trusting that Jesus is in the boat with us and that the chaos we face will not have the final word.

Christ longs to enter our lives, calm our troubled hearts and help us carry his peace into a broken world. May we live with faith in God’s sovereignty, hope in his promises and love for those around us. 🙏

🐓 Thank you to Suzanne and Peter for their very kind donation to our community hub - it will help us carry on for a good few weeks.
🍽️ Thank you to Cheryl her help in serving at our community hub today and for all her efforts keeping our church presentable.
🗑️ Thank you to Stan for everything he does particularly sorting out the cardboard and bins.
♻️ And thank you to Bolsover District Council for providing us with food caddy's and a food waste collection bin - incredibly useful ( and helps Stan out too!)
