St Luke's Catholic Church, Pinner, Middlesex Welcome to St Luke’s, Pinner! You're very welcome to Follow us on here and share our posts. The Parish was founded just over 100 years ago in 1914.

You're warmly invited to explore this diverse and friendly parish in NW London where we seek to serve our loving Creator, each other and the wider community. Several hundred people come to Mass each week; our parishioners are of many nationalities and all ages. We have an active catechetical programme, with children and young people being prepared for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Communion an

d Confirmation. There is a large and lively presence of the Cubs, Scouts and Brownies, a weekly Mother and Toddler group, and many other groups and activities (and opportunities to volunteer!)

Sunday: (Sat 6pm), 9am, 11am. Holy Days: (Vigil 7.30pm), 10am. Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 10am. Confession: Saturday 11 to 11.30am, 4.30 to 5pm.

Today we mark the feast of St Augustine of Canterbury, the first Archbishop of Canterbury and a key figure in bringing Christianity back to Anglo-Saxon England.

Sent by Pope Gregory the Great in 597, depicted here in the Cathedral, Augustine led a mission that laid the foundations of the English Church. Welcomed by King Ethelbert of Kent, he spread the Gospel with wisdom and respect for local traditions.

Happy Pentecost! 🔥

Veni Sancte Spiritus! Come, Holy Spirit!

A very beautiful prayer to the Holy Spirit is the sequence proclaimed before the Gospel at all Masses on Pentecost Sunday, which contains the lines: “Bend the stubborn heart and will; melt the frozen, warm the chill; guide the steps that go astray.”

The name “Pentecost” comes from the Greek word meaning “fiftieth” and is the last day of the Easter season.
