Confirmation Course
We are starting a Confirmation course this Autumn for 14-18 year olds.
Also, if you are an adult and would like to be confirmed please let us know as there may be an opportunity for an adult group.
In both circumstances please speak to Father Sean after Mass and register your interest and get an application form.

The SVP's Working in Prisons group is inviting members, volunteers and supporters to join us for a special conference exploring our work in prisons.

📅 Saturday 10 October 2026
⏰ 10am–4pm
📍 St Michael’s, Wombwell, Barnsley

The day will include a Concelebrated Mass at noon, alongside a programme of speakers and participants reflecting on the past five years and looking ahead to the next chapter of Vincentian prison work.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the day but please bring your own packed lunch.

♿ Step-free access and accessible toilets are available, with a large free car park.

Jesus said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every kind of filth.
Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the memorials of the righteous,
and you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have joined them in shedding the prophets' blood.'
Thus you bear witness against yourselves that you are the children of those who murdered the prophets;
now fill up what your ancestors measured out!"
