🎉 we have some exciting news

On the 22nd of February from 2 -4 our garden and meeting house are open for all to enjoy our wonderful snow drops that bloom all around in our garden

This is also a fantastic opportunity to enjoy our peace pole and to reflect in peace in a world that is chaotic

Members of Peterborough and Wisbech Quakes attended a counter demonstration to the demonstrations that are happening all around England protesting against refugees

The message is that all are welcome and have a right to feel safe

We at Peterborough meeting house are excited at having a peace pole in our beautiful circle of white birches for everyone to enjoy and reflect on.

The wording on the peace pole is “May peace prevail on earth “

The wording is repeated in 8 languages including brail.

We hope this is a space you can come and enjoy whilst reflecting on the words of peace and what they mean to you

Good evening

There was a lot of apple picking today in the quiet garden. Most of the apples came from our two main apple trees. Hiding behind them we have a couple of smaller ones that bore a lot of fruit.

It took a couple of hours to pick most of the fruit, everyone pitched in and there was much laughter to be had. There was also a lot of wonderment at two of our members spending a good hour in the tree picking the apples from the highest branches

Andrew is bringing awareness to the long term effects of drilling for gas in the Rosebank

Rosebank is the UK's largest untapped oil and gas field, located 80 miles west of Shetland, with the potential for nearly 500 million barrels of oil. The UK government approved its development in September 2023, but a Scottish court ruled this decision unlawful in January 2025, finding that the environmental impact assessment did not account for the emissions from burning the oil and gas.

Andrew has dedicated the last month walking the length of the rosebank to bring Awareness to the Environmental impact this will have.

Andrew will be in London tomorrow to join a silent vigil in front of the Supreme Court at 3pm to remind the Supreme Court of the long term consequences of allowing the Rosebanks to be drilled for gas
