As the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah draws to a close and the Islamic year comes to an end, we prepare to 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗺, a month marked by reflection, sacrifice, and remembrance. With its arrival comes the opportunity to revisit the 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮 —a legacy that continues to inspire hearts and minds across generations.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄: 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄

On 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, we organised our 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 Summer Vibes With The Rahmah Project session as part of our third week theme of 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲.

The boys and girls worked together in teams to give back to the 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 through a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

The session started with the boys and girls being 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 and 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗷𝗶𝗱. Working together, they took great care in cleaning and organising various areas, demonstrating 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 for the house of Allah Almighty.

After completing the indoor tasks, the teams moved into the surrounding neighbourhood for a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸. Armed with bags, gloves, and plenty of enthusiasm, they worked diligently to help keep the 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 for residents and visitors alike.

Throughout the session, team leaders kept track of each team's efforts, 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲. The healthy competition motivated everyone to get involved, and the teams with the highest scores enjoyed rewards of their choice at the end of the day.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁 for their 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 throughout the session.

We look forward to continuing this journey with more exciting sessions and opportunities throughout the summer term, Inshā’Allah.

In this profound reflection, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad explores the meanings of Muharram, the Hijrah, and the blessed arrival of Prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace) in Madinah. The lecture reminds us of the prophetic call to spread peace, feed others, pray by night, overcome divisions, welcome new Muslims and revive love of the Messenger (upon him be peace) through action and service.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “𝑾𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒉 𝑨𝒍-𝑲𝒂𝒉𝒇 𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚.”

🌙 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐒 𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐁 – 𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐍𝐄 🌙

On 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟯𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘆, we launched the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 session of our 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯.

This month's theme was the 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝘆𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 and her remarkable journey, which inspired the 𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗷. The children learned the story in a 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 and 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘆, getting up and moving to re-enact key moments, including the running between Safa and Marwah.

They then took part in a creative 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 & 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, putting together a 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 of Sayyidah Hajarah’s journey to help 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 the lessons they had learned throughout the session.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, and we look forward to welcoming the children again next month.

On 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, we had the opportunity to take 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬 𝗯𝗼𝘆𝘀 on an exciting and educational visit to the 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝟭 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲.

The day consisted of 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 engaging sessions designed to inspire 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 in 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 subjects and the world of 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁.

👨🏽‍🔧 𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗡𝗘: 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣
Focused on the importance of the 𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝟭 𝗰𝗮𝗿. Students were divided into 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 and challenged to 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲 while considering a range of engineering requirements. Each group then 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻, developing both their 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀.

🏛️ 𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗪𝗢: 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗠𝗦 𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗨𝗠 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥
Involved a 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 through the 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴, exploring the team's journey from its 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 through to the 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆. The students were able to see their 𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘀, and learn about the 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 that have shaped one of Formula 1's most successful teams.

🏁 𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘: 𝗙𝟭 𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘
In the final session, the boys were given the opportunity to put their 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 on 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝟭 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, competing against one another and experiencing a taste of what it feels like to be 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝟭 𝗰𝗮𝗿.

Alhumdulillah, it was a memorable day filled with 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

Today, 1 June, marks the Global Day of Parents, designated by the UN General Assembly in 2012 and observed annually in honour of parents throughout the world.

Islam places immense emphasis on honouring, serving and showing kindness to parents. Allah Almighty says: "And your Lord has decreed that you worship none except Him alone, and be good to the parents. If one of them or both of them reach old age with you, then do not even say 'uff' (fie) to them, and do not tell them off, but speak to them with great respect. And lower the wing of humility in front of them out of mercy, and ask (Allah): 'O my Lord! Have mercy on them in the same way that they nurtured me (with great love and mercy) when I was young.'" [Qur'an: The Sublime Word, 17:23-24]

Prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace), as reported by his Companion Anas, said: "Whoever pleased his parents has pleased Allah, and whoever displeased his parents has displeased Allah." [Kanz al-Ummal, Hadith 45497]

Honouring parents continues even after they have passed away. The Companion Malik ibn Rabi'ah reports that a person from the tribe of Banu Salamah asked Prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace): "After the passing away of my parents, am I still responsible for any good deed towards them?" He replied: "Yes, to perform their funeral prayer, to seek forgiveness for them, to fulfil their promises, to respect their friends and to maintain the ties of kinship which you would not have were it nor for them." [Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 3664]

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐕𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐖𝐎 : 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅-𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄

On 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘆, we organised our 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 Summer Vibes With The Rahmah Project session which was another 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀!

In this session, the boys took part in an exciting session of 𝘄𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 hosted and led by Futuwwa Wrestling Club. Through the session, they developed 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 whilst learning new skills in a safe and structured environment.

Meanwhile, the girls enjoyed a session of 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴 hosted and led by Top Yard School of Boxing Peterborough. The session encouraged 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, whilst providing a fun and engaging way to stay active and build new skills.

A huge thank you and heartfelt appreciation goes to 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝘄𝘄𝗮 𝗪𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 and 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗢𝗳 𝗕𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴 for delivering such enjoyable and beneficial sessions. Their 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗺, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, and 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 helped create a 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 for all the young people involved.

A special thank you also goes to all of our 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 who helped make the day run smoothly and contributed to another successful session.

We are excited to continue building on this momentum and look forward to the upcoming sessions and activities planned throughout the summer, Inshā’Allah.
