St Andrew's Church Northborough St Andrew's Church Northborough St Andrews is an ancient church (west wall possibly of Saxon date) with strong connections to Oliver Cromwell's family.

The Claypole chapel is a link to Claypole/Claypoole descendents whose ancestors went to North America. Though the church is locked outside of service times there is a list of key holders in the porch, including Dr Hibbins in the dental surgery nearby. Visitors are welcome.*

9.00 a.m. Eucharist (Holy Communion) with a visiting minister
6.00 p.m. Evensong with Derek Harris (Reader)

Fourth Sunday of the month
10.30 a.m. All Age Praise with Freda Skillman (Reader)

Fifth Sunday of the month
10.30 a.m. Group Eucharist (Holy Communion), rotating round our group of parishes

Holy Communion services have toys and books ready for our youngest worshippers; music is provided by our organist, and we sing hymns, not always expertly, but with gusto. If you’d like to receive communion you are welcome at the altar to receive the bread and wine which is at the heart of this service. If you are not comfortable with receiving bread and wine, you are welcome to receive a blessing, or indeed remain seated. Wherever you are in your journey with God, we look forward to meeting you!

Advent

The word Advent comes from the Latin word ‘Adventus’ meaning ‘Coming’ and the season of Advent is a time of preparing for Christ’s second coming as we celebrate his first coming at Christmas.
The third candle ~ The Candle of Joy also remembering John the Baptist
The fourth candle ~ The candle of Love also remembering Mary, the Mother of Jesus
And the fifth candle? ……. more next week!
