So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge.
Numbers 13:32 NLT

Did you know that bad news travels faster than good news, in fact very fast. Did you notice that the bad news quickly spread across the Israelites' camp.

What kind of news do you spread? Do you spread news that will lift people up, news that will encourage others, news that will boost the faith of others or otherwise?.

Do your words inspire faith or fear?

Fear robs us of God's blessings but faith leads us to enter into the fulness of God's promises.

What you SEE will inspire your report.

In our day today where there is a scarcity of good news, be a bringer of good news, be a bringer of faith and hope. Let your words inspire and build up another rather than tearing down.

And once again David asked God what to do. “Do not attack them straight on,” God replied. “Instead, circle around behind and attack them near the poplar trees.
1 Chronicles 14:14 NLT

Victories are good. However, we must be careful to ensure that our trust does not subtly shift from God to our past victories.
We must not trust past victories. We must not fight today's battles off the back of yesterday's victories.

We must continually trust and seek God's direction.

Let us not fall into the trap of being too familiar with victories......'Oh I've done it before, so I know exactly what to do'

David had a habit of always asking God, and of course we can see that the strategy the second time was different from the strategy the first time. If he had proceeded based on the strategy of his past victory, he would have met with defeat.

We must not trust in the arm of flesh because it will fail.

Whether the cloud stayed above the Tabernacle for two days, a month, or a year, the people of Israel stayed in camp and did not move on. But as soon as it lifted, they broke camp and moved on.
Numbers 9:22 NLT

***GOD'S PACE***

The Israelites basically followed God.

It was God Himself that dictated the pace of thier journey.

Sometimes they appeared to move fast, and at other times they appeared to move slow, but in all they obediently followed God, and that was only how they were guaranteed the presence and protection of God.

Do not let another man, woman, pastor, bishop, ministry dictate your pace of following God. Let God Himself dictate your pace and you will continually be in His presence.

Walking or running at another's pace may rob you of God's presence.

The whole countryside is open to you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I’ll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I’ll go to the left.” After Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west.
Genesis 13:9‭, ‬14 NLT

EXTRA BAGGAGE?

Are you carrying any extra baggage. Abram didn't step into the fulness of God's promises for him as long as Lot was still tagging along with him.

Sometimes conflict can be God's way of separating us from people who are not part of our journey.

I'm sure God must have looked at Abraham and thought 'there's no place for your nephew Lot in this your journey '.

Abraham exhibited great wisdom and maturity in handling the conflict between him and his nephew. He was humble, he even allowed Lot to choose first, of course Lot chose the juicy part. We will find out later what happened to that attractive juicy part that Lot chose.

That moment of separation was a vital step that launched Abram into God's blueprint for him.

What extra baggage are you carrying that God wants you to get rid of?

It was after Abram separated from Lot that the instruction came from God asking him to 'Look and see'.

There are things you cannot see yet, there are depths of God you cannot enter yet as long as you are still tagging on that excess baggage.

What is the Lord asking you to separate from?.

Only then can you look and see...

We have so much noise, confusion and chaos in the church today because stones which have not been worked on at the quary site have made it to the construction site(1Kings 6:7)

Sometimes even when we are where God wants us to be, doing what God wants us to do, challenges and difficulties can still arise.
(1 Kings 17:5-7)

So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.
1 Samuel 16:13 NLT

Here David was anointed as king , might I add in a rather private and informal ceremony.
He didn't also ascend the throne immediately, he still went back to his shepherd work.
There's timing to every of God's plan.
David was humble enough to carry this powerful anointing and yet remain a shepherd boy for tthe time being.
He didn't attempt to 'show himself' prematurely.
God Himself was going to show him at the appointed time.

Are you carrying a powerful anointing, but you find you are still a shepherd boy, the time of your showing by God is coming. Follow God's plan.

So Moab was conquered by Israel that day, and there was peace in the land for eighty years.
Judges 3:30 NLT

Imagine that just one victory delivered 80 years of peace for the Israelites. I pray for such peace-delivering victories in our lives and families in Jesus's name Amen.🙏

Give attention to prayer

Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away. And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to pray - Mark 6:45-46.

Jesus’ next destination in this story is Bethsaida (the other side). His disciples are on their way there but He himself first must take a different route; He must pray first. No matter the pressure to go to the other side, He must first go to the mountain, because prayer will bring you to your desired destination. The one who prays will arrive at the other side quicker than the one who doesn’t give attention to prayer.

Those who neglect effectual prayer because it may take their time or delay their journey to the other side, may still be toiling and rowing in the middle of the sea of life in the evening of their lives (Mark 6:48). Please give attention to prayer.

Those who take a detour to the mountain to pray like Jesus may not set out at the same time with those who rush out to the other side, but surely, they will always arrive first. And those who rush out without taking time to pray will depend on those who have prayed for help in the middle of the storm.

The storm of life is no respecter of persons. It had the audacity to rise against the ship which carried the maker of the seas and oceans (Mark 4:39). But prayer will equip you for the storm and bring you through it. Through prayer, we are able to deal with every contrary wind.

When the disciples left for the other side, there was yet no visible storm, so they must have seen no need to join the Lord’s prayer meeting but a praying man/woman will foresee danger by the help of the Holy Spirit and hide or prepare himself/herself (Proverbs 22:3).

Give attention to prayer, not mere religious exercise but effectual fervent prayer through the Holy Spirit’s help. Wake up and pray. Do not contract prayer, rise up yourself and pray. Another man’s prayer can only take you so far. Learn from Peter’s example (Matthew 14:28-32).

What is your desired next destination, spend time to pray and no storm, no matter its intensity will be able to stop you.

Give attention to prayer because the Lord Jesus did.
