Absolutely brilliant concert by Chansons_Chamber_Choir at the Cathedral tonight! Bob Chilcott's Aesop's Fables was a highlight in a spectacular programme. Thanks to Chansons for raising money for our organ fund.

Really looking forward to this on Sunday!! 🎶

We have been invited by St Ninian's Cathedral, Perth, to give a concert to help raise funds for their organ and new piano.

We regularly use St Ninian's for rehearsal and for concerts so are delighted to be appearing in concert on Sunday September 9th at 7.00pm.

The concert will include an arrangment of Aesop's Fables by British composer Bob Chilcott. Composed in 2008, this is a charming and witty setting of four of the famous fables including 'The Hare and the Tortoise'.

Britain is a country with a wealth of songs that have captured life, love, the times and beautiful landscapes and places that tell the story of this great nation and all its peoples. We draw on this rich repertoire with arrangements of folksongs from acrosss the country, by many of our finest composers. These will include songs from Scotland (Afton Water, Loch Lomond), from England (Early One Morning, Brigg Fair, Yarmouth Fair) and from Wales (Swansea Town).

Interspersed we will have some of MacMillan's Strathclyde Motets, Daemon Irrepit Callidus by György Orbán and may step back in time with baroque masterpieces from Orlando Gibbons, Jachet Arcadelt and Josquin Lebloitte dit des Prez.

The concert is to help raise funds for St Ninian's fabulous organ, one of the finest organs in Scotland.

Full programme details will follow (we are technically still on our summer holidays!) and tickets will be available online in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime please mark the date in your diary and we will look forward to seeing you all there.

We are very excited by this concert on Sunday 6 September! Our friends at the excellent Chansons Chamber Choir are singing to raise funds for our cathedral organ. They are really good, don't miss it!

Don't forget the next FREE Gaelic concert in our Summer / Autumn series, on Wednesday 2 September at 2pm.
Kaitlin Ross and Catriona Hawksworth will be performing for us, and we hope the concert can be in the main cathedral rather than the Chapter House.
