What a wonderful and generous congregation we have!

Today, we celebrated our Harvest Festival, giving thanks to God for the many blessings we receive. Our congregation responded with such kindness and generosity, donating a wonderful collection of food and essential items, which will be passed on to those in need.

During our worship, we also offered prayers for our local farmers, giving thanks for their hard work and dedication in providing the food we so often take for granted.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed. A beautiful reminder that Harvest is not only about giving thanks for what we have, but also about sharing our blessings with others. 🍂🌾🙏

Let’s talk about life, death and everything in between…

GraveTalk is a relaxed and informal opportunity to get people talking about death, dying and funerals — subjects we all encounter in life, but often find difficult to begin talking about.

It’s not a lecture or a course. It’s simply a welcoming space for conversation, where we can explore some of life’s bigger questions, share as much or as little as we wish, and perhaps discover that talking about death doesn’t have to be gloomy.

You don’t need to be a churchgoer or have any particular beliefs. Just come along, have a cuppa and join the conversation.

📖 A wonderful find from our village church!

We were delighted to discover, safely archived at St Ninian’s Cathedral in Perth, one of the earliest registers from St Columba’s, Stanley, dating all the way back to 1905.

What a wonderful piece of our church and village history — filled with names that connect us with generations who have gone before us.

Perhaps your relatives are among them! If you have family connections with Stanley and would like to see whether a familiar name appears in the register, please pop by St Columba’s or get in touch with us. We’d be delighted to have a look.

Just a reminder that we are closed on Thursday and there is no Taizé service at 4pm on Sunday. You are welcome to join our sister church, Perth Cathedral for Holy Communion on Sunday at 11am. Open as normal from Monday 28th September.
