Last week marked the 100th birthday of David Attenborough, with the BBC broadcasting special programmes and even a personal tribute from the King. Churches and bell towers across the country were invited to join the celebrations by ringing out in his honour.
Many thanks Mike Williams, our bell captain and our ringers who braved the ladder (and the rain!) to mark this special occasion. We were delighted to take part in this nationwide tribute by chiming the bells of St Andrew's 100 times, celebrating Sir David’s remarkable century of dedication to the natural world and environmental conservation.
Our contribution has now been permanently recorded alongside others in the official international bell ringing database:

Sad news
for those who remember Nigel Copsey and his dear wife Sara, who has been remembered in our intercessions for a very long time and has finally departed.

We send our deepest condolences to Nigel and all the family.

Last weekend our volunteer gardeners worked hard and the grounds of St Andrew's looked stunning on Sunday morning. The bells rang out to welcome everyone - huge thanks to the gardeners and to Mike Willans and his team.

Last Sunday Tim invited Sue Compton to the front of the church so that we could wish her a very happy 96th birthday and thank her for being a Reader at St Andrew's for 30 years! Sue has contributed to the life of St Andrew's in a myriad of ways, including leading the Children's Programme for many years. Our love and enormous thanks,
