Come and join us for our Sunday morning service today, and get an art exhibition at the same time. It's like 'Buy one, get one free' but without having to buy anything (unless you happen to fall for a particular art work, and want to make a purchase).

We are delighted to be hosting the Watlington ArtsHub Spring exhibition on the theme of "Yellow". Well done to Andrea, Jules, Jess, Sue and all the team - the church looks amazing!

Our service today will be led by the wonderful Paul Rosentall. Doors open at 10.30am for coffee/tea and chat, worship starts at 11am.

All are welcome!

On Sunday, one of our readings was from the prophet Micah (Ch 6, v8):

"He has shown you what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God"

Rev Stephen explained that the word translated as 'mercy' really means loving kindness and compassion, and then gave us this view of what kindness means:

"It is communities' faithfully and persistently seeking one another's wellbeing"

So, let's be faithful and persistent in seeking the wellbeing of all those we meet this week, and always.....

SABBATH BLESSING

May this day bring Sabbath rest
to my heart and my home.

May God’s image in me be restored,
and my imagination in God be re-storied.

May the gravity of material things be lightened,
and the relativity of time slow down.

May I know grace to embrace my own finite smallness in the arms of God’s infinite greatness.

May God’s Word feed me and His Spirit lead me into the week and life to come.

Pray with us today.

Loving Christ, source of all truth and restorer of tunefulness, I have accepted a place in your choir, but spoiled its harmony by my pride. I have known your love song, but remained impervious to its transforming beauty. I have learned the music of your graceful story, but hindered the performance by my selfishness.

Forgive me.

Make me tender-hearted, that the power of your music might change me; make me modest, that I might humbly sing the part you give me; make me generous, that others might hear your choral symphonies. Loving Christ, source of all truth and restorer of tunefulness, sing through me, I pray. Amen.

Join us for our Communion Service this Sunday, led by our minister, Rev Stephen Spain.

Doors open at 10.30am for tea, coffee and chat
Worship starts at 11am

Everyone is welcome!

We know Christmas can be a difficult time for many people. We are sending love to everyone struggling to see God’s light reflected in them and anyone who finds this period challenging.

Even amidst all the rejoicing, God sees and receives your sadness.

Pray with us today.

All loving and all-embracing God, our hearts overflow with gratitude when we think and feel your love, manifested in Jesus Christ and poured into our hearts by your Holy Spirit. Let our response be spontaneous praise, praying fervently, reading your words passionately and welcoming the strangers genuinely. Give us charismatic smiles, courteous words and sacrificial hearts when we approach others with your love. Help us to overcome the temptation of being engaged in pious acts to win your favour and instead teach us to live in solidarity with you and with the needy and suffering. Let us and our churches reflect your love in a love-hungry world, now and always. Amen.
