Wood Farm Brass Ensemble were fantastic last week at their Summer Concert! An amazing opportunity for local children to learn an instrument, especially for those for whom private lessons would not be possible.

Giving children opportunities to make music together, to learn instruments and to perform in front of live audiences is such an important part of what we're doing to make the 'Wood Farm difference'! I had a great visit to Wood Farm Primary School yesterday with their Head Teacher David Lewin. The school has a brilliant ethos, fabulous facilities, a really dedicated staff team and, of course, brilliant children! We are looking forward to welcoming two classes to Holy Trinity for a visit next month, as part of their learning about the history and stories of the local community.

What have a pair of gloves, a leaf, a twig, a fidget toy, a piece of black obsidian, an apple, a crayon, a padlock and a room full of people all got to do with the Holy Spirit? Have a listen to our crowd-sourced sermon from Pentecost Sunday!

You can also hear us read Acts 2 in multiple languages spoken by the congregation - a HTHQ tradition!

Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. We are celebrating with an All-Age service, hopefully with a few surprises!

Today's prayer helps us reflect on Jesus's Ascension and look forward to the coming of the Holy Spirit.

O God the King of glory,
you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ
with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven:
we beseech you, leave us not comfortless,
but send your Holy Spirit to strengthen us
and exalt us to the place where our Saviour Christ is gone before,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
