Our Mission Statement

South Oxfordshire Crematorium and Memorial Park Limited has a mission to provide exceptional standards of service and facility to the bereaved families that use its crematoria and gardens of remembrance. This is because it is not only commercially sensible to do so but also because it is an essential act of human decency towards people who have just lost a much loved member

of their family or friend. Bereavement is the price we must all pay for the joy of loving and being loved. The loss of a loved one is the most stressful, unhappy and traumatic experience that we will face in life. We at South Oxfordshire Memorial realise that we are unable to eradicate such pain but we also know it is our responsibility and duty to be as efficient, kind, respectful and polite as humanly possible to our clients at their time of grief, and thereafter when they return to remember their cherished relatives or friends. Therefore it is our aim to provide immaculately clean and tidy facilities in tranquil and beautiful surroundings attended by people who are sincerely dedicated to our mission, and who take a great pride in their work as a result.

On Friday 29th May we had the pleasure of welcoming Jane Elliott (Corporate Partnership Manager ) from SeeSaw to present her with a cheque for £5000 from our ICCM Metals Recycling Scheme from the end of 2025. This scheme recycles metals recovered after cremation, with the families consent and in partnership with Orthometals.

We previously donated to Seesaw in early 2025 and to date have donated in total £10,5335.50 .

We are incredibly proud to support SeeSaw in helping them continue the amazing work they do in providing vital resources & support for children, young people, and their families in Oxfordshire dealing with bereavement.

On 22nd May Natalie , Olivia & Ryan from South Oxfordshire Crematorium had the privilege of visiting ‘The Cornermen’ charity, who are based out of the South Moreton Boxing Club to present our cheque donation for £17000 from the ICCM Metals Recycling Scheme to Steve James Founder & CEO of the charity
The Cornermen are a local charity who provide invaluable support to men within our local community they have created a safe, non-judgemental environment where men can talk openly, feel heard, and be encouraged to move forward & it is aimed at improving men’s mental health and su***de prevention.
The Cornermen provides access to experienced professionals for men struggling with their mental wellbeing, For each session it is decided what they would prefer to do, just talk, walk, hit the bags and pads, lift weights or go for coffee. It can be a one off or regular slots.

As we witness first-hand the devastating impact that su***de and poor mental health has on families, friends, and the wider community we felt it was deeply important to us that we used the funds received through the ICCM Metals Recycling Scheme to support initiatives that make a meaningful and preventative difference.

We feel that The Cornermen truly reflects the spirit and purpose of the scheme — transforming loss into positive community impact.

South Oxfordshire Crematorium are proud to announce the presentation of a £5,000 donation to The Hummingbird Centre through our ICCM Metal Recycling Scheme from the funds from the end of 2025.
The Hummingbird Centre, based in Bicester , founded by Mechelle Harris, provides invaluable support and therapy services to individuals diagnosed with cancer and their families. Their mission is:
“To relieve the mental and physical sickness of persons diagnosed with a form of cancer by the provision of support services for such persons and their families.”
We previously donated to the charity in early 2025 but we wanted to support this incredible charity again for the amazing work they do in providing the help, guidance, and sanctuary that families need whilst navigating their cancer journey. The centre offers support in many forms, including counselling and alternative therapies such as Equine Therapy, which is delivered through Equilore.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting Equilore to meet Mechelle Harris, founder of The Hummingbird Centre, and Dr Loes Koorenhof, who founded Equilore in 2017. It was truly inspiring to see first-hand the positive impact these services have on the individuals and families they support.
We are delighted to know that the funds donated have been used to facilitate Equine Therapy sessions for individuals supported by The Hummingbird Centre.
Equilore’s mission is:
“We believe that Equine Assisted Therapies are highly effective for those experiencing mental health challenges, often where traditional therapies have not worked. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring that adults and children have timely access to professional mental health support.”
We cannot thank both charities enough for the constant help, support, dedication and care they provide to individuals and families at a time in their lives when support is needed most. What they offer is truly invaluable.
Thank you to The Hummingbird Centre and Equilore for the compassionate and life-changing work you continue to provide within our community. 💛

In today's world, family and friends are often spread across the globe. At Memoria South Oxfordshire, we believe that distance should never be a barrier to saying a final goodbye.

If a loved one cannot be physically present, our high-quality webcast technology ensures they don’t have to miss the moment. We provide a seamless, respectful way to bridge the gap and bring everyone together in shared remembrance.

How it Works:
- Live Streaming: Family and friends can join the service in real-time from anywhere in the world.
- On-Demand Viewing: A recording remains available for 28 days, allowing those in different time zones to watch when they are ready.
- A Lasting Keepsake: For a small fee, you can request a permanent copy of the service on DVD or USB.

It is easy to arrange. Simply speak with your funeral director or arranger to request a webcast. Once scheduled, you’ll receive secure login details to share with your guests.

Technology may change how we gather, but it never changes the importance of being there.
