Join us tonight at 6.05 pm as we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi, also called the Day of Thanksgiving for the Institution of Holy Communion. 🥖🍷

We give thanks together for the bread and wine we share at communion, which Jesus gives us as his body and blood. Together, we carry it in procession through the Cathedral and out into Tom Quad, so that Christ's presence may bless Christ Church and Oxford. Our preacher is the Dean, The Very Revd Professor Sarah Foot, and the Cathedral Choir will sing William Byrd's 'Mass for Four Voices'. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Last Sunday, we said a fond farewell to the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft, who laid down his crozier to mark the end of ten years as the Bishop of Oxford in a special service of thanksgiving.

Bishop Steven has been a great supporter of our mission and ministry, and he will be greatly missed by many in the Cathedral community. We wish him and Ann all the very best for the future!

This , we want to pay tribute to our Cathedral volunteers. 🥰

Over 450 people regularly give up their time to support our mission and ministry in a diverse range of roles. From welcoming our visitors and helping them to access our history, to maintaining our vestments, to taking key roles as servers and singers in public worship, and far more besides: it truly wouldn't be the same without them here.

On behalf of us all, thank you - and happy Volunteers' Week!

We're delighted to welcome The Revd Dr Cally Hammond, Dean of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and Church Times columnist, to preach the University Sermon on the Feast of Pentecost at our 9.35am service of Choral Matins this Sunday.

The practice of University Sermons dates to the University's earliest days, providing an opportunity for all to hear renowned thinkers from a range of disciplines and perspectives, drawing together the life of learning, spiritual discovery and the quest for truth. We hope you can join us!

We were delighted to welcome the Bishop of Oxford and Major General Peter Rowell last week for the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant by the Diocese of Oxford during Choral Evensong.

The Armed Forces Covenant was introduced by the UK government in 2011 following a campaign led by the Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland. It recognises the duty of care owed to those who serve and their families.
