On feast of Pentecost, the Chaplaincy community celebrated the Baptism, Confirmation and Reception of those who had been journeying in the 'What Catholics Believe' (the Chaplaincy's RCIA programme) this year. We wish them a warm congratulations and do keep them in your prayers. These are just some of the pictures taken on the day, do keep an eye out for a longer album soon!

As many of you may have heard, we will not have a resident community in the main building next year due to the extensive roof repairs needed in the Chaplaincy's New Wing. This Sunday, the Chaplains - and one or two members of the Newman Trust - will be hosting a Q&A session to listen to any questions and suggestions you may have about what Chaplaincy life might look like next academic year.

The Chaplaincy has offered accommodation to a number of students for a long time and we hope to resume in a year or so. The residents contribute to the life of the Chaplaincy and help maintain an atmosphere here which is welcoming, supportive and prayerful. You will have seen many of them around - setting up for breakfasts after student Masses, setting up and putting away chairs for Sunday Masses, helping in the sacristy, library and with social media (yes, this is mainly a house responsibility!) among other things. Even looking after Oliver the cat, when needed! They also help with lots of things you don't see!

Please join us if you are a member of the Chaplaincy community, even if just to listen to some ideas about how these tasks and the wider Chaplaincy life can be supported next year.

Calling all who want to read at any of the Sunday Masses - please contact Alvea to let her know. No prior experience is required - just a desire to serve in the liturgy in this way! - and training will be provided if needed.

A teaser for the watch party of "Trading Places," in the Blue Room on Tuesday 8th Week (16 June) at 8pm. Open to University members.

Father JohnBosco shares more about it:
"We have some exciting news. Our community of Carmelite friars here at Boars Hill, Oxford, appeared on 5 in a new documentary series called โ€œTrading Placesโ€ on Sunday 24 May. Three young men came to live with us for a week โ€” sharing in our life of prayer, silence, community, and work. It was a beautiful and moving experience for all of us, and we cannot wait for you to see it. We hope what you see will surprise you, move you, and perhaps make you curious about a way of life that has been quietly changing hearts for over 800 years."

The Chaplaincy has received greatly from the hospitality and spirituality of the Carmelite Friars who run two termly retreats for students. Find out more about them or just come and enjoy the intriguing documentary next Tuesday evening!

We hope those of you who were able to join in the Corpus Christi procession yesterday had a blessed time and happy feast to all! In line with this feast celebrating the gift of the Body of Christ, the Chaplaincy renews the welcome to any who desires to serve at Mass as a Eucharistic Minister.

If you are interested, please contact a Chaplain to beginning training. This could be a great way to live out your devotion to the Eucharist! Even as the academic year comes to a close, feel free to get in touch for the next academic year.
