Iffley Church – also known as St Mary's – is famous for its beauty and architectural interest, and remains a vibrant worshipping community today. It was built in 1170 and is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the country. Sunday Service times:

Visiting speaker tomorrow

We are delighed that Revd. Su McLellan from Embrace the Middle East will be preaching tomorrow at 10am. She will begin our season over the next few weeks where we will be focussing on the good news in the book of Genesis. There will also be a short talk and opportunity for questions over coffee after the service. Su is Associate Minister at Coventry Cathedral and Church Engagement Lead at Embrace the Middle East.

We are devastated to hear of the tragic death of a young person in the river in our parish and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. The Church will be open for private prayer from 8am tomorrow, and the vicar and some members of the pastoral team will be around between 5-6pm where candles can be lit.

Welcome to Jane Barlow – our new Curate!

We were delighted to host the ordination as Deacon of Jane at St Mary's Church on Pentecost Sunday, and we look forward to getting to know her and her family, and her ministry with us here. Jane has been training for ordination part-time at Sarum College, Salisbury. Before ordination Jane worked in libraries and in administrative roles. Outside of church life Jane is happiest being outside and she and her family enjoy visiting Scottish Islands and the Yorkshire Dales....
