ANNOUNCEMENT:
Dear Friends,
I announced at services on 1st February that I intend to retire this year. I anticipate that my last Sunday will be 13th September. By then I will have been ordained for 30 years and will have been Rector of this Benefice for 14 years.

It has been a tremendous privilege to walk the journey of discipleship with you during that time; to share your lives; to serve the wider community.

There have been challenges along the way, but these have been overcome and I feel confident that I will leave the benefice in good shape and in good heart.

Thank you for your support and
friendship.

There is a process to go through to prepare for the vacancy and then to find a new Rector. Both of these tasks will involve a lot of work and the more people who can be involved the better.

Churchwardens will obviously have a key leadership role during this time. All of this will be clearly communicated to the churches and PCCs in due course.

Until September it is God’s business as usual.

Clare

***********Network Rail plan to install an additional temporary bus shelter in the New Year*********

Since February this year we have been working with the Council, Network Rail, and our local community on how St Frideswide’s might support these plans. Network Rail have sought our permission to install an additional bus shelter on church land and the process to obtain the necessary permissions is underway.
For the next 14 days, from the 5th December, there is an opportunity for the general public to see the plan and comment.
Plans are displayed inside the church and on the church door and railings. These plans specify that no trees will be removed.
It is hoped that work will commence in January 2026.
