There has been a chapel at Oriel since its earliest years in the 14th century, and it has always played a huge part in the life of the College. The present building was consecrated in 1642, and despite restorations in succeeding centuries, it largely retains its original appearance. The Chapel is home to one of the best mixed-voice choirs in Oxford, singing at two services each week in term (Choral Evensong on Sunday and College Communion on Wednesday).
