Role: Research Assistant
Based: Oxford & online
Term: 1 May – 31 July 2023 inclusive
Hours: 1 day a week
Pay: £28,000 pro rata

The Europe Collaboration (EC) is seeking a Research Assistant to aid our work in identifying, vetting, and adopting vibrant church plants across Europe’s cultural centres.

The EC has previously raised €2.8 million to support 21 church plants from Paris to Bucharest, Aarhus to Athens, for five-year terms. We are pleased to announce we have now secured additional funding for a further 6-10 church plants. This new ‘round’ of funding will be available to church plants from September 2023, with the bulk of the research taking place during May-July.

The Research Assistant will work with the Project Director through a wide network of Referral Partners, who work on the ground across Europe and know our vision and mandate, in order to identify promising church plants. Church plants will be individually interviewed by the Research Assistant, and those matching our criteria will be invited to apply for funding, which involves a rigorous application process that the Research Assistant will play a full part in. The final portfolio will be presented to a board of Donors, who make the decision about which church plants to invest in.

In addition, the Research Assistant will support the Project Director in reporting on our 21 current church plants, ensuring that our Donors are honestly and fully briefed with the progress of each project.

Requirements:
- Competent project management skills
- Fully available for the period 1 May – 31 July 2023
- Willing to work flexible hours, particularly in the initial stages when interviewing busy pastors in different time zones is a priority.

Desirable:
- European languages and experience
- Church leadership experience
- Ideally able to split 1 day a week work into two half-days. These could be fixed or flexible.
- A willingness to come to our St Giles office in central Oxford every other week for a half-day to work in-person alongside the Project Director.

Next Steps:
Please send a CV and brief introduction to [email protected] by 25 April 2023.
