Yesterday at Fotheringhay - organist James Parsons playing after the service and Sonnet, the Vicar's dog, listening intently. So good to see Revd Annie and Sonnet back from holiday.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Southwick is open every day and is a lovely, tranquil place for prayer, meditation, or having a think.

Next Sunday - 13th September - Warmington's Harvest Festival Service, with a baptism - at 11.00 am. A change to previously advertised, refreshments in church replace the BBQ in the churchyard. Warmington Church last Friday. In July 1873, the new Vicar, Revd James R H***e, arrived from Cornwall and found the church to need urgent repairs. The roof, for example, was in danger of falling down. He set to work to raise the money needed (eventually about £5,000) and the work was completed in 1876. This year we celebrate the church’s re-opening 150 years ago.
