BRIDGE CAFE - OPEN THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON

The Bridge Cafe is open for business this Thursday afternoon for those living with dementia and their carers.

Plenty of games and activities for all tastes and a friendly cuppa and cake and a good chat amongst friends.

SPECIAL.ANNOUNCEMENT

COMMEMORATION SERVICE FOR CHRISTOPHER HALL.

Monday 2nd November - 11am

Those familiar with the Bridge Church will be aware of the many amazing stained-glass windows in our sanctuary. All of them dedicated in memory of individuals or, in the case of the large Christmas window, to the fallen of the First World War.

One such window is dedicated to the memory of Christopher (Chris) Hall, who died in active service exactly seventy years ago on 2nd November 1956. He was only 22 years old.

Chris Hall was a member of the then Otley Congregational Church''s Young People's Group, and became a member of the church on 6th July 1952.

He was a very popular young man, and an excellent rugby player, where he played with distinction for Prince Henry's Grammar School. There are still members of our church and community who fondly remember him today.

Chris joined the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy, and in October 1956 his squadron was deployed to Egypt as tensions mounted in what became known as the Suez Crisis.

As we reach a milestone anniversary it felt appropriate for us to hold a memorial service, to acknowledge his sacrifice, on Monday 2nd November at 11am, the 70th anniversary of Chris' death.

We are extremely grateful to the Fleet Air Arm Association, and the local branch of the Royal British Legion, who are sending their standard bearers to be present at the service.

Please join us as we mark this important occasion.

The Drop-In is open on Tuesday afternoon for Y7 to Y9 students.

Loads of games and activities (including table tennis 🏓, table football ⚽️, computer 🖥 and board games), free food and chill-zone 😎.

The Youth Drop-In is run by Leeds Faith in Schools, with volunteer support (all DBS checked) drawn from the following five Otley churches;
