Looking ahead to next Sunday at St Oswald's...

A new week brings another opportunity to come together in worship, prayer, fellowship and music. We'll be gathering for our Parish Eucharist in the morning, followed by Choral Evensong in the evening.

Whether you're a regular worshipper or have never joined us before, you'll be very welcome. We'd love to see you and share in worship together.

🎢 We're so glad to be back! 🎢

After their summer break, the choir is delighted to be back together and singing once again! We're looking forward to a new term of beautiful music and worship, and to sharing in the life of our church community.

This coming Sunday, we'll be singing 'Forgive Our Sins as We Forgive', and we would love for you to join us for the service at 10:30am.

Whether you're a regular member of our congregation or have never visited before, you'll receive a very warm welcome. Come and experience the beauty of Anglican choral music and worship with us.

We hope to see you there!

🌻 Not all disabilities are visible! 🌻

If you see someone wearing or displaying the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. This is a discreet way of indicating that they may have a hidden disability and could need a little extra time, patience, understanding or support.

It is important to remember that the Sunflower symbol is not a "mask exemption" badge or a way of claiming "special privileges". Nor should anyone be expected to explain or disclose their disability simply because they are wearing the Sunflower lanyard.

Instead, it is an opportunity for us to respond with kindness, respect and understanding. πŸ’›

As a church and community, let's strive to be a place where everyone feels welcome, valued and included including those whose disabilities may not be immediately visible. πŸ™Œ

🌻 Listen. Be Kind. Have patience. Don't judge. Show respect. 🌻

OSWESTRY'S OLDEST WINDOW!

Tucked away in the stonework of the church tower next to the choir vestry is this small 13th-century lancet window. Its simple design is very different from the beautiful stained glass we see elsewhere in the church, but it has its own fascinating story to tell.

This little window has survived the English Civil War, centuries of change, rebuilding and restoration including the major restoration of the church in the 1870s.

Set deep within the thick medieval stone walls, it is a remarkable survivor from another age. Just think of all the generations who have worshipped here, passing this very window on their way through the church.
