Thank you to Matthew Higby for providing the new training bells. Brian and Peter collected them and even enjoyed a quick ring on the mini‑ring while they were there. Once back in Oswestry, the rest of the team — John, Andrew and Chris — joined in to help move the bells up to the clock room.
They’ll be installed shortly, giving our new ringers the chance to develop excellent bell‑handling skills as we begin an exciting new chapter in training.

🎉 Celebrating 100 Years of the SACBR! 🎉
What an incredible evening marking a century of the Shropshire Association of Church Bell Ringers. It was wonderful to see 102 members come together, along with special guests from neighbouring associations, to honour our shared heritage of ringing.
A special mention to our ringing master Tony, whose dedication continues to inspire us all.
This celebration was lovingly organised by a sub‑committee led by Ann E Williams, who sadly passed before seeing the event come to life. Her spirit and commitment were felt throughout the evening, and we are grateful for all she gave to the association.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made it such an enjoyable and memorable night. We are also deeply grateful to Hawkstone Hotel for the beautiful room, delicious food, and wonderfully friendly staff — you helped make the night truly special.

Thank you to the towers of Chirk, Ruabon, Wrexham, and Bangor-on-Dee for your wonderful hospitality. We had a fantastic day of ringing, made even better by the company of the ringers from St Martins who joined us. The day was rounded off perfectly with a beautiful meal at The Buck in Bangor-on-Dee.

Tonight we were delighted to welcome Rosie Radford, Mayor of Oswestry, to experience the art of change ringing and to see how our teaching is progressing with the addition of two new training bells, due to arrive very shortly. We also extend a warm welcome to William, who has recently moved to the area and joined us. Our welcome goes out as well to visiting ringers and all those with an interest in what we do.
