This morning at Mass, we were delighted to acknowledge our Year 6 leavers as they prepare to move on from our parish primary school to the next stage of their journey in September.

During his homily, Fr Sean invited all of the Year 6 pupils to the front of the church to speak to them directly about their own mission in life, encouraging them to carry God's love and His Word with them as they embark on this new chapter and the adventures that lie ahead.

At the end of Mass, the pupils were invited to the sanctuary, where each was presented with a cross and a card bearing the inspiring words of St John Henry Newman. It was a small token from the parish, reminding them that they will always be part of our parish family and that they go forward with our prayers and our blessing.

We wish all of our Year 6 leavers from St Ignatius every happiness and success as they begin their new schools in September. May God bless and guide each one of you. Go forward with confidence, knowing that the Lord is always with you.

The recurring theme of Fr Philip's homily at Mass this morning was revival - a turning back to the Church and to the Word of God that we are beginning to see in so many aspects of our society.

As we reflected on his words, we couldn't help but recognise that we are witnessing that revival right here in our own parish at St Ignatius, Ossett.

Month by month, our congregation continues to grow. We are delighted to welcome new people and many young families, and we are blessed to offer our Children's Liturgy of the Word each Sunday for our youngest parishioners. We are also blessed with a marvellous team of dedicated altar servers who faithfully serve at Mass each week, while our choir enhances our liturgical celebrations every Sunday through the gift of beautiful music.

Our parish is enriched by the dedication and generosity of so many people who give their time in service to others - from our welcomers, the Union of Catholic Mothers and the St Vincent de Paul Society, to the organisers of our piety stall, those who prepare and serve refreshments after Sunday Mass, those who quietly clean and care for our church, arrange the flowers, and the many others who contribute in countless ways to parish life.

Alongside our worship, parish life continues to flourish through the many social events and activities held throughout the year, bringing people together in friendship and strengthening the bonds of our parish family.

This is what revival looks like: a parish alive with faith, hope and love, where people of all ages come together to worship God, serve one another and grow together as one family in Christ.

If you've been thinking about coming to church, or perhaps returning after some time away, know that you will receive a warm welcome at St Ignatius. Come and see for yourself what God is doing in our parish. There is a place for everyone here, and we'd love to welcome you into our parish family.

At the end of Mass today, Fr Philip invited Ivor and Anne to the front of the church so that, as a parish family, we could congratulate them on their marriage yesterday at St Ignatius Church.

We wish them every blessing, happiness, and joy as they begin this new chapter of married life together. Congratulations, Ivor and Anne!

It might not be Lourdes, but for those who have been feeling just a little envious this week seeing our Diocesan Pilgrimage, here's a wonderful opportunity a little closer to home!

Our parish, together with St. Austin's and English Martyrs, is offering a shorter, local retreat - a chance to step away from the busyness of everyday life, spend time in prayer and reflection, and enjoy fellowship with others.

All the details are on the poster below.

It would be wonderful to see as many parishioners as possible coming along, so do consider joining us!

It is wonderful to see representatives of our parish - clergy, parishioners and students - playing such an important role in this year's pilgrimage, helping members of our diocesan family experience what is so often a truly life-changing journey of faith. We look forward to hearing the stories, memories, and blessings that pilgrims will share in the weeks and months ahead.
