🙏 Welcome to the Church, Jack Harris!
What a joyous occasion! On the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Jack Harris was received into the Catholic Church, baptised, and confirmed by Fr Daniel.
What better day to be born into new life in Christ than under the protection and intercession of Mary, Mother of God. In a single grace-filled moment, Jack received the sacraments of initiation and the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Welcome home, Jack. The parish rejoices with you!

**Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary**

On this glorious solemnity, we celebrate Mary's entrance into heaven—body and soul—the fulfillment of her "yes" to God and the promise of our own resurrection.

As Fr. Daniel reminds us, Mary shows us the way:

**Be fearless in your charity.**

**Be unafraid to magnify our God.**

**Know that your hope is secure.**

Today we honor Mary's triumph—and we claim our own. Let us rise with her in confidence, charity, and unshakeable hope.

**Sunday we celebrated St Lawrence — our parish's co-patron and martyr of the early Church.**

Mass, followed by cakes and cava in his honour.

St Lawrence was a deacon in Rome under Emperor Valerian. When a magistrate demanded he surrender the Church's treasures or face death, Lawrence returned three days later with the poor and sick of the parish — the true riches of Christ.

Enraged, the magistrate ordered Lawrence's ex*****on on a gridiron. In his final moments, Lawrence faced his torment with unwavering faith, becoming a witness to Christ's victory over death itself.

His feast reminds us that true wealth lies not in what we possess, but in our commitment to Christ and the care of the vulnerable.

News from this weekend!** Veronica and Kate represented our parish at the National SVP Conference at Yarnfield Park, joining members from across the country to share ideas and deepen their mission of putting faith into action.

The talks covered inspiring local works: prison ministry, bereavement support, partnerships with Caritas, youth groups, and so much more. Our SVP members came home energized by the commitment they witnessed to serving people in genuine need.

**The St. Vincent de Paul Society in our parish—and across the country—stands ready to support anyone facing hardship.** Whether you need help or feel called to serve alongside our members, please reach out. Our SVP team would love to hear from you.
