A Return to the Path

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

By the grace and mercy of Allah ﷻ, we are honoured to announce the beginning of a new chapter at Greengate Jamia Masjid.

This masjid was originally established upon the Naqshbandi spiritual tradition — a path of remembrance, purification of the heart, love of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and closeness to Allah ﷻ.

Over the years, that spiritual connection became less prominent. Now, by the permission of Allah ﷻ, we seek to revive and reignite the Naqshbandi path that this masjid was originally established to serve.

This is not about looking back or pointing to what was lost. It is about returning to our roots, reviving the remembrance of Allah ﷻ and opening the doors once again to the spiritual teachings of our Mashayikh.

We invite the brothers of our community to join us for an evening of:

Dhikr • Sohbet • Spiritual Connection • Remembrance of Allah ﷻ

under the guidance of the Naqshbandi Haqani Silsila, led by Shaykh Ahmed Al Baghdadi Al Naqshbandi Al Haqani.

🌹 OLDHAM’S ANNUAL MILAAD UN-NABI ﷺ JALOOS 🌹

Tomorrow, we gather with one purpose: to express our love, honour and gratitude for the greatest blessing Allah bestowed upon creation — our Beloved Master, Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ.

We will begin the day at Greengate Jamia Masjid, where Breakfast/Nashta will be served from 10 AM onwards.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend and have breakfast together.

At approximately 11:30 AM, we will leave Greengate Jamia Masjid under the supervision of Allama Syed Atta Ullah Shah Bukhari and make our way together to Waterloo Street, where the Jaloos will commence at 12 PM.

Let us come together and make this a beautiful expression of love, honour and gratitude for Rasulullah ﷺ — the one whose blessed arrival brought mercy, light and guidance to the entire world.

May Allah increase us in the true love of His Beloved ﷺ, and make every step taken in his honour a means of immense reward and closeness to him ﷺ and gather us beneath his blessed banner on the Day of Judgement. Ameen

NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR AQIDAH.

Our Aqidah — the Aqidah of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama‘ah — is the Aqidah of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and the noble Sahabah

Look at the contradiction of our times:

Someone speaks against your father, your family or your caste, and your honour immediately awakens. You remember it for years. You even warn your children: “Do not associate with him — he spoke disrespectfully about your father.”

But when a matter concerning the honour of Rasulullah ﷺ arises, the same people suddenly say: “Leave it. Don’t make an issue out of it.”

What kind of honour is this?
What kind of love is this?

There is no greater shamelessness than a person who has honour for himself, his father, his family and his caste, yet has no sense of honour when it comes to the Beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Your own honour matters to you — but what about the honour of the one ﷺ for whom you claim love?

We are human. We are sinners. Our actions may be weak and full of shortcomings. But never allow weakness in your actions to become corruption in your Aqidah.

Wealth may grow. Your worldly status may grow. But never change your Aqidah to please people. Hold firmly to the Aqidah of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama‘ah — an Aqidah built upon unwavering love, honour and reverence for Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ, and love and respect for his noble Sahabah رضي الله عنهم

May Allah keep us alive upon the Aqidah of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jama‘ah, cause us to die upon it, and resurrect us beneath the blessed banner of our Master Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ. Ameen.

💚 RABI AL-AWWAL 1448 💚

The Blessed Month of Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is upon us once again....

Alhamdulillah — all praise and endless gratitude belong to Allah, who has blessed us once again with the arrival of Rabi Al-Awwal — the springtime of believing hearts, the season of love and devotion, and the blessed month illuminated by the birth of our Master, Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ — the Mercy to the Worlds, whose blessed arrival brought light, guidance and hope to all of creation.

تمام امتِ مسلمہ کو ربیع الاول ۱۴۴۸ کی آمد مبارک ہو۔
وہ بابرکت مہینہ جس میں ہمارے آقا و مولا، سیدنا رسول اللہ ﷺ کی ولادت ہوئی۔

مبارک ہو کہ خاتم المرسلین تشریف لائے
جنابِ رحمت للعالمین تشریف لائے

As Rabi al-Awwal dawns upon us, let our hearts blossom with love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Let our homes and Masajid come alive with abundant Salawat and Salam, the remembrance of his blessed Seerah, gatherings of Mawlid, and expressions of gratitude and joy for the greatest blessing Allah bestowed upon creation — His Beloved ﷺ.

This month is more than a celebration — it is an opportunity to renew our relationship with the one ﷺ whom Allah sent as a Mercy to all the worlds.

Let us make Rabi al-Awwal 1448 a month in which we:

🌟 Increase our Salawat and Salam upon the Beloved ﷺ
🌟 Read and reflect upon his blessed Seerah
🌟 Revive his Sunnah in our daily lives
🌟 Fill our homes with his praise and remembrance
🌟 Spread mercy, kindness and generosity throughout our communities
🌟 Strengthen our love and connection with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

Our love should not remain only upon our tongues. Let it transform our character, our homes and our lives. Let us become more merciful, forgiving, generous and sincere — following the beautiful example of our Master ﷺ.

May Allah fill our hearts with true and everlasting love for His Beloved ﷺ. May Allah grant us the ability to live and die upon his Sunnah, increase us in Salawat and Salam, and make us a source of mercy and goodness for others.

May Allah this blessed month not to depart from us except that Allah has blessed us with the beautiful vision of our Beloved Master ﷺ, and his noble countenance has become forever etched upon our hearts and souls. Ameen. 💚

SALAT AL-KUSUF | REVIVING A FORGOTTEN SUNNAH

On Wednesday 12th August 2026, the UK witnessed a solar eclipse, with around 90% of the Sun covered by the Moon, making it the biggest eclipse seen from the UK since 1999. It was also the deepest eclipse we will see in the UK until 2050.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that eclipses are not merely astronomical events to observe, but signs from the signs of Allah which should turn our hearts back towards Him. He ﷺ said:

«“The sun and the moon are two signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So when you see an eclipse, pray and make du'a to Allah until the eclipse passes.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari 1044]»

As this rare event took place, we had the opportunity to revive the Sunnah of Salat al-Kusuf (the Solar Eclipse Prayer) — a Sunnah that many may never have had the opportunity to practise before.
