🌙 𝐄𝐈𝐃 𝐌𝐔𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐊 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐉𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐉𝐈𝐃 🌙

On this blessed occasion of Eid Al-Adha, we extend our heartfelt greetings and sincere du‘as to you and your families.

May Allah accept your sacrifices, prayers and acts of worship, forgive our shortcomings, and fill our lives with peace, happiness and barakah.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and blessed Eid.

As the days become longer and the weather more pleasant, we are reminded that every season is a blessing from Allah Ta‘ala.

Our Imam & Khateeb, Allama Syed Atta Ullah Shah Bukhari, beautifully reflects on gratitude, making use of our free time, the Sunnah of Qayloolah (midday nap), and spending these long summer days in the remembrance and worship of Allah.

In the UK, our days begin early and end late. Whilst others experience darkness, we continue to witness daylight. These extended hours are not merely a change in season, but a blessing and opportunity from Allah — moments that can be spent in Qur’an recitation, Dhikr, reflection, extra prayer and gratitude.

Do not allow these long days to pass only in comfort and distraction. Dedicate a portion of them to worship, remembrance and drawing closer to Allah. Every season is a sign, every blessing deserves gratitude, and every moment of ease should bring us nearer to our Creator.

May Allah enable us to appreciate His countless favours, follow the Sunnah of His Beloved ﷺ, and make use of our time in ways that benefit us in this world and the next. Ameen

𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐒𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐚 𝐔𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡 𝐁𝐮𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢, explains the virtues of the Day of Arafah, the reality of fasting on this day, and the immense mercy Allah grants to His servants.

Among all the days Allah has created, the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah) stands above the rest. It is a day of immense mercy, forgiveness and liberation from the Hell-fire — a day in which duʿas are accepted and sins are erased.

Laylat al-Qadr is known as the greatest night of the year. Likewise, the Day of Arafah is regarded as the greatest day of the year; the pinnacle of the blessed first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.

It was on the Day of ʿArafah that Allah revealed: “Today I have perfected for you your religion, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [Surah al-Ma’idah: Ayah 3]

Laylat al-Qadr is the night when the Qur’an was first sent down. Meanwhile, the Day of Arafah is the day when Allah perfected our beautiful religion of Islam

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “There is no day upon which Allah frees more people from the Hellfire than the Day of Arafah…”
[Sahih Muslim]

Mount Arafat, also known as the Mountain of Mercy, is located approximately 20km southeast of Makkah. It is here that Prophet Ibrahim prepared to sacrifice his son, and where Hajj pilgrims gather for the pivotal rite of standing before Allah — making du’a, seeking forgiveness, and humbling themselves in vigil.

For the pilgrims, it is the greatest pillar of Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Hajj is Arafah.”
[Sunan Abu Dawood]

And for those not performing Hajj, this blessed day still remains an extraordinary opportunity — through fasting, dhikr, repentance and sincere duʿa

May Allah allow us to witness this blessed day of Arafah every year, accept our fasting and sincere duʿas, forgive our sins and shortcomings, and grant us freedom from the Hell-fire and grant us his love and the love of his Messenger ﷺ.

May Allah shower His mercy upon us and the entire Ummah of Sayyiduna Rasulullah ﷺ, grant ease in our difficulties, accept the duʿas of those standing on Arafah, and bless us all with steadfastness, forgiveness and ultimately Jannat Tul Firdaws. Ameen Ya Rabb

Out of His infinite mercy, Allah grants His servants blessed seasons in which worship is multiplied and drawing nearer to Him becomes easier. Among these are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and the Days of Tashriq.

The Days of Tashriq are the 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah, the three days following Eid al-Adha. They were named because pilgrims would traditionally spread and dry sacrificial meat in the sun.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ described these as: “Days of eating, drinking and remembering Allah.”(Sahih Muslim)

For this reason, Muslims are encouraged to increase in dhikr, gratitude and remembrance of Allah, whilst reciting the Takbirat al-Tashriq after the obligatory prayers. These blessed days remind believers that joy and celebration in Islam remain deeply connected to worship and remembrance of Allah.

Eid al-Adha is more than a celebration — it is a reminder of sacrifice, obedience and devotion to Allah. It falls in the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah, one of the four sacred months in Islam.

May Allah accept our Qurbani, prayers and good deeds, and allow us to witness Eid with His mercy and forgiveness. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, at the beginning of May, Ustadh Mustafa set his Qur’an class a collective goal: that together they would complete a Khatam of the Holy Qur’an.

The intention behind this was firstly, as Esal-e-Sawab for the Blessed Prophet ﷺ and all of our deceased family members, and secondly, to encourage the students to develop a regular habit and connection with the recitation of the Qur’an.

Each student was allocated a Juz to complete as homework, whilst some students were given two, with the aim of completing the entire Qur’an by the end of the month.

Alhamdulillah, every single student completed their allocated Juz. It was truly beautiful to see their effort, commitment and willingness to engage with the Book of Allah beyond the classroom.

During today’s class, the last few surahs were recited and special dua was made by our Imam & Khateeb, Allama SyedAttah Ullah Shah Bukhari, for all the students, their parents, and all their deceased family members.

May Allah Ta‘ala accept this humble Khatam, make the Qur’an a lifelong companion for our children, increase them in knowledge, adab and love for His Book, and grant immense reward to all those for whom this recitation was intended. Ameen.

InShaaAllah, this collective monthly Qur’an Khatam will continue every month, with the hope of strengthening the students’ connection with the Book of Allah ﷻ and nurturing a lifelong love for its recitation
