YOUR IDENTITY IS INTACT

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.” (Mark 10: 46)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture announces the person of blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. The word ‘Timaeus’ means honour. So, to put it differently, this man was blind Bartimaeus, the son of ‘Honour’. He was blind, yet he was still the son of honour. The fact of his blindness did not change the fact that he was the son of honour. The fact that he had a negative condition did not change the reality of the identity he was birthed into.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: no negativity will swallow your identity. Whatever you are struggling with does not change your identity in Christ. Whatever battles you are facing do not change the fact that you are God’s own, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and engrafted into the dynasty of heaven. The situation of your finances does not change the fact that you serve a God who owns a thousand cattle on a thousand hills.

Whatever the devil has tried to do around you does not change who God has made you. Your identity in Christ is stronger than every affliction from the enemy. Your identity in Christ is stronger that the conspiracy of the wicked. Your identity is stronger than the wicked plots of those who are positioned against you. Your identity in Christ supersedes the negativity in the economy you operate in. Your identity in Christ is above your realities.

If Jesus has redeemed you, then your life is hid in Christ in God. If Jesus has redeemed you, then you are not what the enemy says you are. God is your ever present help in time of trouble. God is closer to you than any affliction can ever be. Your struggle is not who you are. Your battle is not who you are. Your mistake is not who you are. Your limitation is not who you are. If it is not of Christ, then it is not your identity.

If you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, then insist on your identity in Christ, no matter the realities that are not in your favour. If God be for you, every negativity around you will bow to your identity in Christ.

1 Peter 2: 25 says: “For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.”

Declare With Me: No negativity will swallow my identity in Christ, in Jesus’ name!

NO NEGATIVE IDENTITY

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.” (Mark 10: 46)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus. Bartimaeus was blind, and it soon became the reference point in his life. What he suffered became the easiest way to describe him. What he suffered became the new way to identify him. What he suffered seemed to overshadow his identity. Blindness lingered in his life for so long that people simply added it to his name.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: negativity will not be added to your name. Affliction will not be added to your name. Your struggles will not be added to your name. What you have suffered for a while will not be added to your name. Sickness will not be added to your name. Lack will not be added to your name. Your negative condition will not become your identity. Your negative experiences will not overshadow your identity.

Jesus eventually showed up, and healed Bartimaeus. Jesus showed up, and removed blindness from his life. I pray for you: every negativity that has become your identity, I decree, let there be divine intervention. Let the Lord arise and roll away everything the enemy put on you like a garment. Let the Lord arise and strip you of the struggles you have battled with. Let the Lord arise and cleanse you from negativity.

Jesus did not go to the cross so that you can wear negativity like a garment. Jesus did not pay the price so that you can be called by the name of sickness and disease. Jesus paid so that nothing from the enemy will tag along with you needlessly. If it is not of God, reject it, resist it, and command it to get out of your life. If Jesus did not plant it in you, then uproot it before it yields and births more negativity in and around you.

The end of negativity has come in your life. El Roi has set an end to darkness. No longer shall it be said that you were identified by any negativity.

Job 28: 3 says: “He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.”

Declare With Me: I will not be identified by negativity, in Jesus’ name!

IT’S NOT OVER

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.” (Mark 10: 46)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture sheds light on the timeline of the miracle of Blind Bartimaeus. Jesus was on His way out of Jericho, when He came in contact with Bartimaeus and healed him. His time in Jericho was up; He was done with what He came for; He was on His way to other matters; His mission in Jericho was about to be closed, when He backtracked and healed Bartimaeus. It seemed that the time was over, but the miracle of Bartimaeus came forth.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: even when it seems that the time for your opportunities is already past, God will cause it to come your way. Even when it seems that chapters have been closed concerning your expectations, you will still carry your evidence. Even when it seems that it is too late for a miracle to happen, it will still happen. Even when it seems that your result is no longer feasible, it will still come forth.

The miracle of Blind Bartimaeus did not come as soon as Jesus arrived at Jericho; it came when Jesus was on the way out. It came when it seemed that it would no longer come. It came when it seemed that Bartimaeus was not the priority. It may seem that you are not on God’s priority list, but you are about to carry that miracle that will change your story. It may seem that the likelihood of change is slim, but it will still happen.

No matter what men are closing on, and no matter how unlikely it already seems, you will enjoy the fulfillment of your expectations. Before it ends, you will have your answer. Before the chapter is closed, you will make progress. Before the arrangement is closed, your name would be on the list of favoured ones. Before the process is over, you will be remembered. Before the first half of 2026 is over, you will have your miracles.

Never give up because time seems far spent. If God be for you, chapters that are about to close will still deliver your evidence into your hands.

Psalm 102: 13 says: “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

Declare With Me: Even if time is not in my favour, I carry my evidence, nothing missing, nothing broken, in Jesus’ name!

LET GOD LEAD

“And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.” (Exodus 1: 21)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks to the reason why the Hebrew midwives refused to kill the male children of the Hebrew women. The midwives feared the Lord, and this fear of God was the reason why they chose to deal fairly and kindly with the Hebrew women whose children they were to help bring forth. They feared God, and it impacted on how they treated mere strangers. They feared God, and they did right to others.

Friend, can it be said that your walk with God has impacted on your relationship with people? Can it be said that your market place behavior is positively influenced by your walk with God? Can it be said that your value system is a reflection of your walk with God? Can it be said that your treatment of people around you is a reflection of your walk with God? Can it be said that you became a vessel of mercy to people around you?

Notice that the midwives were not necessarily positively inclined to the Hebrew women. They simply feared God, and it determined their behavior to these Hebrew women. Their walk with God drove their behavior in the marketplace. Even if you are not positively inclined to people, treat them the way God would have you treat them. Love them the way God would have you love them. Let your walk with God lead your behavior towards men.

You embarrass the kingdom when your public behavior and your walk with God cannot be reconciled. You embarrass God when people encounter you but cannot feel the love of God through you. You embarrass God in the marketplace when people cannot readily see your good works and glorify God who is in heaven. You were not raised to love God but treat men badly. You were not raised to misrepresent the kingdom.

Be circumspect in your interactions with other men. May it never be said that people encountered negativity through you.

Matthew 5: 16 says: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Declare With Me: I will treat men rightly; my walk with God will control my public behaviour, in Jesus’ name!
