RIGHTLY POSITIONED

“And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.” (John 2: 6)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

At the venue of the marriage feast in Cana of Galilee, six waterpots of stone were set (positioned), in line with the manner of purifying of the Jews. The Jews were known for hand and feet washing; and those waterpots were positioned to help serve the hand and feet washing purpose. Those waterpots were positioned in line with the lifestyle of the Jews.

Jesus got set to perform His first miracle on earth, and He simply ordered that water be poured into those waterpots. Jesus used the same waterpots that were positioned as a result of the lifestyle of the Jews. So the waterpots got properly positioned for relevance because of the lifestyle of the Jews. Simply put, the Jewish lifestyle became the proper positioning of the waterpots.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: the lifestyle of others will be your proper positioning. The positive or negative lifestyles of people will orchestrate a new level of relevance for you. The seriousness or unseriousness of people around you will work for your good; the personal choices, ideas, visions, dreams, successes, failures, inadequacies, etc. of people around you will become your proper placement for greatness and relevance.

Because of people who planned to wash their hands and feet, six waterpots got the opportunity to be used by Jesus for something higher than originally intended. The results of the waterpots turned out higher than the plans of those who placed them there. You are that ‘waterpot’ that will have higher and greater results; you will unexpectedly get uncommon opportunities as a result of where men placed you.

Sometimes, men may designate you as their ‘waterpot’, fit only for their ‘hand washing and feet washing’; but when God steps in, from that spot where you were positioned, you will be singled out for relevance and influence.

Psalm 18: 33 says: “He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.”

Declare With Me: The lifestyle and choices of other men shall be my proper positioning, in Jesus’ name!

PERFECTED BY THE WORD

“And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.” (John 2: 6)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of the six waterpots, which were later filled with water that became w**e. The number six, represents labour in Jewish numerology. Seven, is the number of perfection. So, what was available was outside of the realm of perfection; but water was added to it and it became w**e. Water is often compared to God’s word (see Ephesians 5 vs. 26). So, imperfection mixed with God’s word led to a miracle.

Friend, you may be surrounded by imperfect situations, but as you mix them with God’s word, you will witness unbelievable miracles. As you mix your imperfect resources with God’s word, you will witness an unexplainable increase; as you mix your imperfect health with God’s word, you will witness a mighty show of the hand of God; as you mix imperfect opportunities with God’s word, you will see greatness.

Jesus did not need seven waterpots to make His first miracle happen; He found six, and that was enough. The absence of a seventh waterpot did not stop Him. Put differently, what was missing did not stop Him. Hear me as I hear the Lord: what is missing will not stop you. What you cannot afford will not stop you; what you cannot make happen at the moment will not stop you; what is not available for you at the moment cannot stop you.

Things may not be perfect at the moment, but God says, what is not perfect will not hinder your results. The things that do not add up will not stop your miracle. The dots that do not connect will not subtract from the plan and purpose of God for your destiny. What is missing in the economy is not enough to stop God from prospering you. What is not working in your favour at the moment will not stop your supernatural results.

As surely as God lives, whatever is missing will not stop the results that will soon come your way. Just add the word of the Lord to your imperfection, and you will witness unimaginable miracles.

Acts 19: 20 says: “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.”

Declare With Me: What is missing will not stop my miracle; the word makes my imperfection perfect, in Jesus’ name!

CHANGE DIVINE TIMING

“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” (John 2: 5)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today

Prior to our Focal Scripture, Jesus had told Mary that His hour (of manifestation) had not yet come. There was a challenge in the wedding in Cana of Galilee; the couple ran out of w**e; there was need for solutions; Mary knew that Jesus could bring divine intervention; but Jesus insisted that His hour was yet to come. Jesus insisted that the hour of divine manifestation was yet to come. Jesus suggested that it wasn’t time for divine help.

Mary saw Jesus’ insistence, and she told servants at the venue to do whatsoever Jesus told them to do. She heard that it was not yet time for a divine appearance, and she got servants to stand by and await Jesus’ instructions. She positioned men in the pathway of obedience, and Jesus intervened. She took a step that caused the time of manifestation to show up ahead of time. Mary took action that made divine time to happen.

Friend, when it seems that it is not yet time for God to show up, your actions can make Him show up on time. Activate divine manifestation through your prayers; turn the hand of God through your obedience; turn around the fortunes of people around you by simply getting them to walk in obedience to God; cause the time of divine intervention to be brought forward by your actions; push heaven into action.

Mary took a step (by telling the servants to stand by for Jesus’ instructions), and the hand of God was drawn into action. What is the step that you are taking today to move the hand of God? Start making those prayers right away; start serving God in an uncommon dimension; walk in obedience on a whole new level; start making demands from Divinity. Turn the hands of the divine clock with your prayers.

Remember, the action of a mere mortal caused Divinity to adjust divine timing. Be that man/woman that will cause divine timing to come sooner than later.

Ephesians 5: 17 says: “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Declare With Me: I move the hand of God; divine timing will be adjusted at my instance, in Jesus’ name!
