⛪ Why Do We Have Church?
Have you ever wondered why we need church? Is it simply a place we go on a Sunday and other regular meetings, or is there something much more important behind gathering together?
The Bible gives us some beautiful answers.
📖 Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds us that we gather together to encourage one another, spur each other on towards love and good deeds, and not give up meeting together. Life can be difficult, and we were never meant to walk through it alone. Church gives us a place where we can encourage, support and build one another up.
📖 Matthew 18:20 says:
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
When we gather together in Jesus' name, He is with us. Church isn't ultimately about the building, the music or the programme. It's about coming together as God's people to worship and seek Him.
📖 Acts 2:42 gives us a wonderful picture of the early church. They devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread and prayer.
That is still what church is about today:
🙏 Learning God's Word
🤝 Sharing life and fellowship together
🍞 Breaking bread and remembering Jesus
🙏 Praying for one another and seeking God
Church is a family. We come together not because we're perfect, but because we need God and we need one another.
So whether you've been part of church for years, haven't been for a long time, or have never been before, there's a place for you among us.
Come along. Worship with us. Hear God's Word. Meet some people. Have a coffee. Pray with us.
Let's encourage one another, grow together and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we look towards the Day He returns. ❤️
