11th July, 1924. 100th Anniversary.

Paris, France.

A century ago today, Eric Liddel won gold at the olympics in the 400m.

Originally selected for the 100m, he refused to compete on a Sunday, believing this to be God’s special day.

Eric’s Christian faith was unshakeable. He recognised God had made him fast as well as faithful.

In the film Chariots of Fire, Liddel summed up his ability to run as follows : “He (God) Made me fast; when I run, I feel His pleasure.

12th August 1973: Boston, USA.

Five months earlier, Chuck Colson had resigned from the White House...
..As he sat in his car in this August night, tears streamed down his face. His friend had just shared with him his testimony of how he came to Christ. Words quoted from the C.S Lewis book "Mere Christianity" cut deep in his heart.

Colson would be convicted of his part in the Watergate scandal and serve 7 months in jail in 1974.

On this day, 50 years ago, Colson prayed to God "Take me, take me." He was born again of God's Spirit and would go on to found Prison Fellowship and find respect as a Christian author.
