Lord's Day 24th May 2026

We're looking forward to remembering Christ's death and resurrection this weekend as we share in the bread and wine.

We're continuing our studies in Paul's letter to the church at Philippi at our communion service this Lord's Day.

In preparing to come to the Lord's table, please do also join us on Saturday evening at 7.30pm when we'll be thinking about 'What is the Lord's Supper?' from 1 Corinthians 11:17-34.

Mull Communion Service

Please do pray for the Lord's blessing as we hold a Communion Service in Mull at Tobermory Free Church building at 4pm. As our Minister Nathan will be leading this service there will be no Zoom service at 6pm.

Anyone in Mull who would like to meet the elders to discuss membership is warmly invited to do so at 3.45pm.

Anyone in Oban desiring to come into communicant membership and partake of the Lord's Supper is invited to meet with the Kirk Session before the preparatory service on Saturday 23rd at 7pm (the service beginning at 7.30pm.)

As per the congregational email newsletter, please remember the AGM on 27th May at 7.30pm in the church hall.

All warmly welcome - believers, doubters, sceptics, young, old, rich, poor, whether you've been before or not - come and hear the wonderful news of what Jesus Christ has done.

First Minister John Swinney MSP addressing the 2026 General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland:

"You support some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society whether through pastoral care, community outreach or practical support. Your efforts not only provide material help but also dignity, compassion and hope in a society that needs an abundance of dignity, compassion and hope. The Scottish Government deeply values these contributions."

John Swinney MSP, First Minister of Scotland, has attended the opening session of the 2026 General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland.

He said the Assembly serves as a reminder of the enduring role that faith communities play in Scotland’s national life, saying: “They are spaces not only of reflection and of governance but also of dialogue between the Church, civic society and political leaders.”

LORD’S DAY SERVICES 17th May 2026

You are warmly invited to our morning 11.00am service and to our in-person evening service at 6.30pm in our hall and on Zoom. There will be Sunday School during the morning service and tea and coffee in the hall after the morning service

We're continuing our studies in Philippians and beginning a new series in Jonah (it's really not got much to do with a fish, come along to find out why!) this week. Do join us for both services if you're able.

Communion will be on the 24th of May and anyone desiring to come into communicant membership is invited to meet with the Kirk Session before the preparatory service on Saturday 23rd at 7pm, the service beginning at 730pm.

Please keep the Wednesday evening of the 27th of May at 730pm free for the Annual General Meeting of the Congregation, this is provisional on the accounts being returned by then but we are confident this will be the case. The AGM is an important time for thanksgiving to God for the year and for looking ahead, it is also important for everyone to understand the financial position of the congregation currently and going forward.
