Beginning on Pentecost Sunday, we’re starting a brand new teaching series titled The Familiar Stranger — exploring the person, presence, and power of the Holy Spirit.

For many Christians, the Holy Spirit can feel both deeply familiar and strangely unknown. We speak about the Spirit, pray for the Spirit, and sing about the Spirit — but who is the Spirit? What does Spirit do? And what does it mean for us as church?

At St Mark’s, we believe that if the Holy Spirit is truly to be at the centre of who we are and what we do, then we need to teach, make room, and learn to follow the Spirit’s lead together.

Across this series, we’ll explore how the Spirit speaks, transforms, empowers, convicts, heals, sends, and brings resurrection life to ordinary people and ordinary places.
