dhiyo yo nah prachodayat The Nottingham Hindu Temple & Community center was found in early 70's. We are an open, friendly & welcoming center. The temple includes a great community hall which houses nearly weekly events, the Hindu Youth Group, Yoga classes, Luncheon clubs, Kala Niketan Hindi school, Birthday/Anniversary/Wedding celebrations, cultural programs, festival celebrations... to name a few! The Temple's Opening Hours are:

Mon-Sat: (Thursday Closed)
9:00 am - 11:30 am,
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Sun: 9:00 am - 2pm, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Vichar Manthan Last Saturday of Month 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Bhajan Sandhya Every Sunday 11 am followed by Preeti Bhojan at 1 pm

On the sacred third day of Navratri, we worship Maa Chandraghanta, the divine symbol of courage, peace, and protection. Adorned with a crescent moon on Her forehead, She blesses devotees with strength to overcome fear and the wisdom to maintain harmony in life.
May Maa Chandraghanta's divine grace remove all obstacles, bring peace to our hearts, and fill our lives with positivity, prosperity, and spiritual awakening. Let us embrace Her teachings of bravery, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Hindu Temple Navratri Chowki 🙏Today

On this sacred first day of Navratri, we worship Mata Shailputri, the daughter of the Himalayas and the embodiment of divine strength and purity. She represents steadfast devotion and the power of nature that guides every soul toward spiritual awakening and inner peace.

Mata Shailputri, revered as the consort of Lord Shiva, blesses her devotees with courage, stability, and serenity. Her presence inspires us to begin Navratri with faith, humility, and a pure heart.

TODAY marks the sacred conclusion and LAST DAY of *Sarva Pitra Paksh*, the final day of Shraadh, when families will visit the Temple to offer their TARPAN in honour and loving remembrance of their ancestors. we request that all offerings,especially any Daan be brought only in sealed packets. This is important for health and hygiene, ensuring that every offering can be respectfully used in the appropriate places within the Temple.

Hindu Temple will be open all day so everyone may offer prayers.

Reflections from Hindu Temple Nottingham

World Peace Day reminds us that peace is both a global hope and a personal practice. Every kind action, every patient moment and every effort to understand one another helps build a more harmonious world. At Hindu Temple Nottingham, we believe peace begins within each person and then spreads into families, communities and nations. When we nurture calmness and goodwill in our own hearts, we contribute to a more peaceful society.

Our guiding principle Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

In Hindu philosophy, we follow the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which means the world is one family. This principle encourages us to look beyond differences and recognise the shared humanity that connects us all. When we treat each other with respect, empathy and compassion, we create the right environment for peace to grow. This belief guides our community work and inspires us to support harmony across Nottingham.

Building a peaceful Nottingham together

Nottingham is enriched by many cultures, faiths and communities. On this day, we appreciate everyone who works quietly and consistently to make our city kinder.
