Today is International Literacy Day.
Literacy is key to being able to find employment, access essential services and be part of a local community. We are proud to support this through:
📚Our Literacy group - helping to develop confidence in reading and writing;
🗣ESOL classes - supporting those for whom English is a second language;
💻Digital Literacy Sessions - supporting those who are less confident accessing online services;
💼Job Clubs - supporting people with CV writing and applications.
📖 A Book Nook for children at our Beeston Hub.

The kettle (or urn in this case!) is always on at our foodbanks. Often, sitting and listening to someone’s story over a cuppa is the most valuable thing we can do. Understanding what someone is going through helps people feel heard and can be the first step to accessing further support.

Today is National Food Bank Day.

We're celebrating the incredible dedication of the volunteers who support people in our local community every day. 👏

Our food bank is here when people need us. But we look forward to a future where nobody does. 🎉

Until then, we'll continue providing emergency food and practical support, while speaking out about the changes needed to end the need for food banks. 📣

Today is a chance to recognise the difference food banks make. It's also a reminder that no one should need to turn to one in the first place 💚

Why not take a moment to pause and be still today. Sometimes worries seem to mount up and our peace seems to disappear. At Hope we like to remind ourselves in our regular rhythm of prayer that we can find God’s peace in any situation that we may face. We remember that God’s love is bigger than any problem or situation. Why not join us in remembering to breathe and be still as we remember that the God who made the world loves us deeply and cares about us. Breathe in his loving peace and kindness as you take a minute today💙💙

It's International Dog Day! 🐕🐩🐾

Pet food is an additional item that many of our foodbanks provide to families needing emergency food parcels due to financial hardship. When times are tough, affording the basics can be a real challenge, which is why we try to help in whatever way we can.

24/08/2026

Every day, our foodbanks help individuals and families facing impossible choices between heating their homes, paying bills, and putting food on the table.

While donations of food are always appreciated, financial donations can go even further, allowing us to purchase exactly what is needed, when it is needed, as well as enabling us to run our community activities and meet our running costs.

Even a small contribution can make a big difference to people in our local communities. 💚

See the links in the comments for ways to get involved.
