A lovely afternoon together for Roots and Ignite.

We learnt about God's faithfulness to the Israelites in Exodus 15-16. We collected God's provision with different challenges; found bitter water, which God made fresh; went to 'sleep' and woke up to manna surrounding us for our needs that day.

On returning to the hall, we had a wonderful time colouring, playing and creating memory story key chains. Maybe our Ignite members can remember: in the wilderness (brown bead), God said he would provide for the Israelites (green bead). He provided: water (blue bead), quail (grey bead) and manna (white bead). God kept His promises; He was faithful (gold bead).

Today marks the start of Volunteers’ Week 2026! 🎉

We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our incredible kids and youth volunteers. Whether you serve in our Sunday sessions, midweek groups, or socials, your time, energy, and generosity help make everything we do possible.

We are so grateful for each and every one of you — we truly couldn’t do it without you!

Today, while Thrive were serving, Roots and Ignite had a great session! We searched the church gardens for doves and clues to our topic today (see if you could get it from the picture clues!); read our Bible passage (Matthew 3:13-17) and had actions to join in with; created Trinity triangles and some of us made Trinity bracelets; and finally, we wrote a Trinity prayer together. What a wonderful session together! We love how Ignite will help our Roots children take part.

This afternoon, we have all been learning about and celebrating Pentecost - the coming of the Holy Spirit. Roots had a wonderful time in the hall creating beautiful artwork and Ignite and Thrive were in church for a wonderful demonstration of the Holy Spirit at work in us.

While Thrive were serving in church today, Roots and Ignite learnt about the Prodigal Son. Roots focused on God the Fath...

While Thrive were serving in church today, Roots and Ignite learnt about the Prodigal Son. Roots focused on God the Father and Ignite ‘spent’ £20,000 while playing a Prodigal Son board game and made some prayer dice.

Before heading into church for our Service of Thanksgiving, Ignite looked at 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and made a wonderful paper chain for each of the lines about love. Reminding us all that the thing that keeps the church working together is love and love never fails.

Roots had a wonderful time playing in our church garden while Thrive were in church for the APCM.
