We are a Church of England church, sharing the love of Jesus Christ for all people. We worship in an inclusive, sacramental tradition: our central act as a Church is to gather each week to celebrate the Eucharist. We also have other services and events throughout the week.

🌿 Festival of Creation at St John’s 🌿

Today, on the 14th Sunday after Trinity, we gathered to celebrate the Festival of Creation and to give thanks for the beauty, abundance and wonder of the world God has entrusted to us.

Our readings reminded us that creation itself speaks of God’s presence:

“The mountains and the hills before you shall burst into song, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:12

And in the words of John’s Gospel, we were reminded that Christ is at the heart of all creation: through him all things came into being, and in him is life and light.

As we begin this new week, may our gratitude become action. May we cherish the earth, care for one another, and recognise that we belong not only to God and to each other, but within the whole of creation. 🌱

Whoever you are, whatever brings you here, whatever your story, there’s a place for you at St John’s.

What a joyful morning at St John’s! 🌿💒

Today we had the great privilege of welcoming little Rosemary into the family of the Church through baptism. Surrounded by her family, friends and our congregation, Rosemary was baptised in a beautiful and deeply moving service.

There was so much love and joy in church, and Rosemary was simply adorable throughout! 🩷

May God bless Rosemary, guide her as she grows, and surround her always with love, faith and a community that will walk alongside her.

🔥 Pentecost at St John’s Carrington 🔥

Today we celebrated Pentecost with prayer, procession, candlelight, incense, joy… and yes, cake with pyrotechnics!✨🎂

A beautiful service filled with music, community, colour, and the reminder of the Spirit moving among us. From the outdoor procession beneath the summer trees to the sparkling celebration at the altar, it was a day full of warmth and celebration.

“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.” ❤️🕊️
