How Refreshing! 💦

Aren’t these downfalls of rain we’ve been having refreshing!

Are they?!! You may cry, but yes, they are.

We’ve enjoyed some very hot weather earlier than we usually would have this year, and now the rains have been coming. Without them, plants in our gardens would have continued to wilt and die, vegetable plots ands farmers crops would have perished, as the land screamed out to be quenched. Hosepipe bans would have come in to place, cricket pitches unwatered, and the British habit of washing the car wouldn’t have happened!

Are you grateful for the rain?

I am.

I see it as a way of refreshing. Life is hard and fast these days isn’t it, always something to be doing, saying from one thing to the next. We don’t always realise we are becoming tired or burnt out, and so because of this we always need to be refreshed.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” – Matthew 5:6

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.” – Psalm 25:4-5

Pray for strength, for renewal, for rest and refreshing. God showers His goodness and mercy down onto us, we don’t have to do it alone, He will refresh us, even when we may not think He can, but also be aware of who may be around you, that you can refresh too.

So next time you might go to moan about the rain, smile, lift your head up and feel those precious drops fall on your face. Smell the air, see the glisten of tiny jewels on petals and leaves, and give thanks for the refreshing.
